I went to the Help Center in Neosho and asked what they need right now. Monetary donations are always appreciated because they can stretch the dollar further than we can. They do accept cash and check.
They really need things that can easily be made into a meal right now:
🔸️peanut butter and jelly
🔹️mac and cheese (the cups are easier for kids bc they can put it in the microwave plus they dont need the extra ingredients like butter and milk)
🔸️canned items such as spaghetti os for kids and canned pasta dishes
🔹️hamburger helper
🔸️ramen
🔹️spaghetti and sauce
🔸️things that can easily become meal without a lot of extra ingredients or time
🔶️my input, those dollar tree meals, everything in a bag that makes a meal sounds like a great idea
🔶if buying canned food, ️cans with the pop tops for kids to easily open if needed
Due to government requirements to keep government food and public donations separate they are having to get rid of their thrift store inside to make space for any food donated by the public. Everything inside is on sale for $1 each right now and they only accept cash for those items.
They are accepting volunteers from 8 am to 1:45 pm Monday's through Thursdays. They have volunteer papers available and would love if people could pick a consistent time and day so they know how many people they'll have available.
Volunteers would be putting boxes of food together, breaking boxes down, unloading delivery trucks.
