Most people would fail this test and still tell you they're not stressed, that's how deep the normalization goes. We’ve just accepted living with a tight, painful body, an undisciplined mind, lackluster emotions, and a disconnected lifestyle as the way it is.

✨🪧✨ These symptoms are brilliant signals from your body, if we could get every person on the planet to recognize these signs, we'd change the trajectory of human health.

We've normalized exhaustion, anxiety, needing three cups of coffee just to function, tension that lives in your neck and shoulders, a mind racing with thoughts that won’t stop, never taking the time to actually rest. 😵‍💫🌀🚙💨🌆💼✉️💰

As a society, we’ve NORMALIZED living in a stress state, and because that’s just how we think life is, no one actually realizes they’re stuck in chronic stress, and it’s degrading their health.

🧠 When you’re in a stress state, your brain lateralizes, pushing function into one hemisphere so you can react quickly. It's a brilliant, evolutionary short-term fix for dealing with imminent life-or-death situations like running away from a tiger or a bear, but we’re not supposed to be stuck in it for years.

🤔 So, if this is you on half a brain, what would your relationships, your work, your health, your decisions, or our entire society look like with full brain function restored?

Your brain was never built for this. It was built for the river, for sunlight and soil, for real threats with clear beginnings and clear endings. 🌞🌊🍒

🐻 Bear shows up, your brain heightens, you respond. Bear leaves, you’re all clear, brain comes back to stasis, and you go back to humming your song and picking berries.

But look at what we're asking that same ancient nervous system to process today: Hundreds of notifications, a 24-hour news cycle that never resolves, bills, bosses, traffic, trauma, none of it has a clear ending. The threats just keep coming day after day after day. 🚙🏙️💼✉️🔁

🧠 Physiologically, an unexpected bill and a predator register the same way. The brain lateralizes, blood flow goes to the limbs, and every system that keeps you well (your immune system, your digestion, your tissue repair) gets put on hold. The body is essentially saying, “We'll catch up when the bear is gone.” But with the way our modern society is designed, the bear never goes away.

Stress is the root of dis-ease because it causes the body to forget its own intelligence. 🌱🌱🌱

When the nervous system is locked in fight-or-flight, cortisol and adrenaline stay elevated, digestion slows, immunity weakens, inflammation increases, and repair processes get deprioritized.

🧠⚡️ The body is brilliant, but it can’t heal while the brain is telling it, day-after-day, that it’s under threat. Eventually, the entire system falls out of alignment long enough that regulation breaks down.

In that state, healing is no longer the priority, survival is. Dis-ease isn’t something that suddenly invades, but what emerges when the body loses the conditions it needs to self-repair.

Exhale longer than you inhale. Do that for two minutes right now. 😮‍💨💨 Your exhale activates your parasympathetic nervous system, which is the signal that tells your body it's safe to come out of survival mode. It's functional, measurable physiology.

✌🏼 Two minutes is all it takes to shift your state enough to think one step ahead instead of just reacting to whatever's in front of you.

Once you're there, don't try to map out your whole life, just pick one thing, one small action you can take today that moves you toward what you actually want.

Tomorrow? The same thing: Two minutes of breath, then another step.

♻️ Regulate, then act. ♻️ Regulate, then act.

Your brain got wired for stress through years of repetition. You rewire it the same way, with small inputs, repeated consistently.

Practice building the capacity for safety, then you can plan even further.

Somewhere along the way, we forgot something fundamental: the body is a self-healing, self-regenerating mechanism. It's infinitely wise, it knows what to do when you give it the right conditions.

🚫💸 The problem is there's no money in teaching you that. There's no profit in helping you understand how your nervous system works, how to shift out of survival mode, how to create the internal environment where healing actually happens.

The medical system banks on you staying stuck in the cycle, treating symptoms, chasing diagnoses, never getting to the root. 🔁

🤔 What if instead of asking "what's wrong with me?" you asked "what does my body need right now?"

Listen to your language. When you say "I have to go to work," "I'm supposed to do this," those are all indicators that you've lost your connection to the inspiration that's actually driving you.

😭 That language keeps you stuck in victim mode. You're conforming to what you think you're supposed to do, what other people expect, what you've been conditioned to believe is right. not from the source of what drives you.

But when you're aligned with your actual values, there's no hesitation. No procrastination. No frustration. It's "I get to do this. I'm inspired to do this. Let's go." 🚀🚀🚀

So pay attention. Every time you catch yourself saying "I have to," pause and ask yourself: what's the deeper reason I'm doing this? What part of this actually serves what I value? How can you name it?

📍 Save this for the next time you catch yourself saying "I have to" and need the pattern interrupt.

In victim mode, life is happening TO you. You're problem-focused, you blame, complain, and frame everyone else. There's no accountability, no responsibility taken.

But you can shift out of it! You can move from victim to creator, from feeling powerless to recognizing your agency. These three questions create that shift:

1️⃣ WHAT DO I WANT OR NEED RIGHT NOW?

When you're stuck complaining and blaming, you're focused entirely on the problem. This question interrupts that pattern and shifts your focus to what you actually desire. You can't be in victim mode and solution mode simultaneously. Asking what you want activates your creative mind, gets you thinking about possibilities instead of spinning in what's wrong. It moves you from reactive to responsive.

2️⃣ WHAT'S THE NEXT SMALL STEP I CAN TAKE?

Victim mode makes everything feel massive, overwhelming, bigger than life. When problems feel that big, your brain shuts down and looks for someone to rescue you. This question breaks overwhelm into bite-sized action. It restores momentum AND gives you agency. Even taking a breath is a step. Small action proves to your system that you can move, that you're not powerless, that you have choice.

3️⃣ HOW IS THIS SUPPORTING MY ALIGNED VALUES?

This connects difficult situations to what you actually care about. When you can see how a challenge relates to your deepest values, it stops being an obstacle. You start to recognize how it's guiding you, forging you, shaping you toward what matters most. It shifts your perception from "this is in my way" to "this is on my way." You see the hidden order, the upside you've been missing while stuck in one-sided perception.

🔖 Save this, and next time you hear yourself saying "they always" or "this never works" or "someone needs to fix this," pull out these questions and watch what shifts.

Our last EDGU training felt like a homecoming. There’s nothing quite like returning to the land where this practice first came alive. 🏔️🌊🌲✨

🌱 Every time we bring people into EDGU here, the land itself seems to rise up in support; the forest, the waters, the air carrying us deeper into the movement. It’s always humbling, always powerful, to stand in the birthplace of a practice that has carried so much healing through the years. 👣❤️🌿

📜 We’re honored to hold this lineage and to share it with others. EDGU has changed our lives, and every time we teach, we watch it change lives around us.
