Get to know Calendula 🌼

One of our favorite herbs for skin healing, lymphatic and detox support.

Most people know that that calendula is used to soothe irritated skin, support wound healing, and calm inflammation but thats just the beginning of its magic!

Calendula is also known for its anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties and is commonly used for rashes, burns, scrapes, insect bites, eczema, and any sort of redness and irritation.

Internally, calendula is used to support and soothe the digestive tract, especially in cases of irritation and inflammation. It is used for heartburn, peptic ulcers, GERD, and overall gut healing.

Calendula is also highly valued as a lymphagogue- an herb that moves stagnant lymph, decreasing swollen lymph nodes and helping to reduce fluid retention.

Calendula has an alterative action which means it opens up the channels of elimination and helps the bowels, skin, liver, lungs and kidneys to clear out toxins and damp heat.

Some of the calendula rich remedies you’ll find in the shop:

🌼 Calendula Oil
🌼 Herbal Healing Salve
🌼 Calendula Zinc Ointment
🌼 Trust Your Gut Tea
🌼 Calendula Flower Essence

Calendula Flower Essence promotes warm and sensitive communication.

The feminine urge to heal with plants 🧚🌷🐝

On Sunday we visited the most beautiful local herb farm to gather fresh plants for our final Making Herbal Medicine class.

We harvested elderflower, sheep sorrel, rue, eucalyptus, goji berries, and more. Grateful for the land, the plants, and the ability to make medicine with fresh herbs!

In our latest Making Herbal Medicine class, we focused on oil-based herbal extractions for skin healing.

We made infused herbal oils, salves, and lip balm while working with herbs traditionally used to heal and nourish the skin.

Simple, clean, and made with intention.

On Monday, we began our Making Herbal Medicine series 🌱

Together we made tea blends, iron maiden syrup, and rose honey while learning some of the foundations of home remedy making.

There’s something really special about gathering in community and creating medicine with our own hands. Looking forward to the next class!

This weekend we harvested fresh nettles for our Making Herbal Medicine class, which begins tonight!

We’ll be working with them in our Iron Maiden syrup.

I also made a nettle pesto for us to snack on (so good) and tinctured some to preserve for later.

So excited to begin this series tonight. There are two spots left for you last minute herb lovers! It’s not too late to join us! 🌿 Link in bio.

This year’s Beltane falls on a full moon in the watery sign of Scorpio- heightening and amplifying our deepest emotions.
🌸 🌕♏️

Full moons are for releasing, Scorpio is the sign of death and transmutation and Beltane is a threshold time; which means this full moon has major healing and transformative potential! 🙏

It seems a fitting time ask- as we walk through the Beltane fires-🔥 -what thought patterns, childhood wounds or old version of ourselves can be healed and released?

Whether it’s patterns of scarcity, feeling unloved or staying small- this full moon asks us to examine, acknowledge and let go!

Let the fire transmute and heal our wounds so we can move forward into a new era of feeling worthy, seen and abundant.

Beltane Blessings Dear Ones 🌿✨💕
