Transforming discord into empathy is fueled by the processes of listening and discernment.

Cultivating deep listening has supported me in showing up for kids with so much more love and empathy.

I’ve been deep diving into the gene keys lately! If you are into contemplating the nature of truth and the evolution of humanity I highly recommend checking it out! 🤓🙏🏻🌊

Posted • The Pulse – 2 Feb to 7 Feb – The 13th Gene Key moves from the Shadow of Discord to the Siddhi of Empathy and it is the Way of Discernment

Listening Through Love

We have seen that the foundation of this 13th Gene Key is based on listening. Indeed, at the level of the 13th Siddhi, listening becomes all there is. Like a black hole, this listening absorbs everything that moves into it – space, time, everything. Eventually listening becomes so total that it fuses together subject and object so that the concept of listening itself disappears. This gives a small hint of what the Siddhi of Empathy really means. It is interesting to note how vehemently mass consciousness has always feared the number thirteen.

In traditional folklore, thirteen gained a bad name through the system of tarot, in which it stood for the Death card. These ancient esoteric codes are always founded in an original truth. Empathy is indeed a death – the death of the separate self that reveals the underlying nature of humanity. Empathy is the truest sense organ of humanity, but it cannot function through the individual, only through the collective. - The Gene Keys Book

Good questions to open up thoughts on power struggles with kids!

Posted • The next time you find yourself thinking/saying, “These kids NEVER listen” spend some time reflecting on these questions and see if there are some behaviors that YOU can shift to help improve the communication between you and your young people. 💜💜💜

Love this reminder from .parenting ! 🙌🏻✨

Posted • .parenting The pressure on parents is out of this world.

Whether it's competition between parents on whose kid is doing what and how well, or anxiety from trying to make sure your kid hits all the right milestones at all the right times, all of it does no one any good. Least of all the children.

Take a breath, dear parent.

Your 17 year old won't still be co-sleeping.
Your 20 year old will not take a pacifier to college.
Your 30 year old will not get asked on a job interview when he took his first steps.

Everything will be okay 💕

TIP FOR ENCOURAGING AWE AND DEEP NATURE CONNECTION !
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One practice that is really impactful is NOT ANSWERING kids questions about nature. Have you ever noticed that kids will often ask adults questions about the things they see? And we often, knowing the answer, just answer them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you pay attention, you might also notice that sometimes answered questions create a feeling of a closing in the mind. A question can create a feeling of openness and expansion, and the answer can feel like a contracting or drawing in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Know what I mean?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So instead of answering questions, I like to:
*reflect back, "that's a good question, I wonder!"
*Repeat the question they asked out-loud
*Just say "hmmmmm" and pause
*Encourage kids to observe longer to find the answer. "I'm not sure what they eat. Maybe if we stay quiet and watch a bit longer they will start looking for food!"
*Point out another detail to observe, "Wow, check out the fuzzy hairs on the caterpillar!"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If I do answer a simple question (like the name of a plant), I like to take a pause and then ask another question! Or say a sentence that begins with "I wonder..." for example, "I wonder where this caterpillar is going." It's important that they sense adults in states of curiosity as well!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thanks to the for helping me realize that there is an art in cultivating awe, wonder, and curiosity.

A solstice song for your spiral walk or solstice ceremony !

This is a blend from a few other songs that I shifted over the years- can’t remember who caught the originals.

Hope you have a sweet solstice!

I was talking with a client about this a few weeks ago, it took me around five minutes to articulate this idea 😂

SO clearly articulated here. It helps children’s emotional development when they see and feel adults have an array of feelings, and take full responsibility for how they treat others.
Posted • .and.sew We are all humans who experience emotions. The goal is not for kiddos to think we don’t have emotions; that’s impossible. They’ll know from our tone, body language, and mirror neurons. We get to acknowledge our feelings and take responsibility for our regulation.

✨I'm feeling nervous about something at work. I am squeezing my fists and taking breaths to help my body.

✨It was disappointing when the dish spilled. I need a minute to calm before I'll be ready to talk about it.

✨I was frustrated that while I was focused on making lunch, you colored on the wall. I took ten deep breaths, and now I feel ready to chat.

We get to normalize feelings and let kiddos know they aren’t responsible for getting calm for us. It’s our job to get calm for them. The idea that you won’t be triggered or feel hard things though, that you’ll just remain calm at all times is unrealistic and not how our bodies are designed. It’s normal to have reactions. The work is in acknowledging our emotions and self regulating so we can respond to the tiny humans with intention.

What challenges come up for you here?

Holding the vision that all children are raised with expressions of sincere gratitude for the blessing of being alive!

Thank you, george, for helping me learn how to make a prayer and to begin to feel that my life is a gift!

Posted • .bertelstein Sincere prayers offered in gratitude for acceptance of and surrender to the miracle that is our existence allow our life to rise up before us like a warm welcoming sun. No need to search or ponder.

How do we keep ourselves clear so that we can show up as our best selves with our kids and loved ones?

My go to practices are prayer, plant medicine, therapy, and movement.

What are yours?

Still haven’t seen this film!

Thanks for this post stefanie!

Posted • Has anyone else watched Gabor Mate’s film The Wisdom of Trauma?
I had so many ah ha moments and was scribbling away countless quotes and areas for reflection.
I admire and appreciate so much of Mate’s work. This quote I posted from his book, In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts, really resonates with me!
I speak about this in my work with families and have personally experienced the importance of making sure the “water stays clear.”
I often say, becoming a parent is a re-birth.
The waves can wash in old debris leaving it on the shore.
Parenthood is a unique opportunity to remove the debris before it washes back out to sea polluting everything in its path.
What are your thoughts on this idea, quote or the film? Would love to hear. 👇🏽

The potency of opening to the unknown, and creating space for a mama’s deeper knowing to emerge is so powerful. To be in the questions together while still staying grounded in practical kid strategy feels like just the right balance.
