Allow me to (re)introduce myself! 👋✨
My name is Linda Gemignani but you can call me Chula. Fun fact: Chula started as a nickname, and I loved it so much I adopted it as my first name 20 years ago!
I’ve been a massage therapist for 20+ years, but my path shifted 17 years ago when I discovered pregnancy massage (Check out Slide 2 for the throwback!).
Back then, I was a “Deep Tissue or bust” therapist. 💪 I was honestly afraid prenatal would pigeonhole me into “light work.” I was so wrong. The reality? My practice flourished. Side-lying work opened up a whole new window and sparked my interest into learning more advanced bodywork -which eventually integrated and became the approach I teach: Dynamic Fascial Response®.
The Philosophy Behind How I Work:
Rumi wrote “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there” I’ve moved away from the idea of “releasing” a restriction as if it’s a flaw to be fixed. I view tension as a Protector. The body holds for a reason, whether for physical survival or emotional safety. Rather than an aggressive deep tissue attack on a “knot,” I use a “call-and-response” dialogue with the tissue, respecting the original agreement the body made to keep my client safe. With MET skills I might even shorten a muscle that is already short to give it exactly what it wants before inviting an unwind.
Now, at 58, my days are a mix of:
🙌 Teaching therapists how to integrate these advanced techniques.
🤰 Supporting my beloved pregnancy & postpartum clients
🏋️♀️ Keeping athletes in peak shape
When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me…
🏔️ Backpacking through the High Sierra (Slide 5!).
💃 Partner dancing
🎸 Writing songs and singing to my cat.
🌱 In the garden planting flowers
✈️ I LOVE traveling! (Slide 6 is 21-year-old me in Paris!!).
I believe we call it a massage “practice” because we never stop learning. I am always in practice and I am always learning. I LOVE what I do!
I’d love to meet you! Tell me in the comments:
