Our 7-bedroom home is on 20 wooded acres, with a sunny deck overlooking a forest of pines and oaks. Just a few steps from the front door, guests can enjoy a network of beautiful, private hiking trails that follows the creek to a sandy beach & picnic area, with waterfalls and shallow pools to enjoy on a hot summer day. The 3,500 sf yuba river retreat – offers privacy and outdoor beauty for guests seeking time in nature, while just 10 minutes from historic Nevada City’s theater, local shops, and gourmet restaurants. Access to the Yuba River at the South Yuba River state park at Purdon Crossing is only a few minutes drive by car from the retreat. With 650 acres of sought-after state park hiking trails, mountain biking, kayaking and refreshing river swimming in summer, it is the perfect place to relax in the outdoors. The Yuba River Retreat is the ideal get-away for groups of outdoor enthusiasts, healing retreats, and families. Look out at the forest from each of the 7 bedrooms and each of the 4 bathrooms feature organic towels and natural products. The master bedroom is comfortably decorated with rustic, handmade furnishing, Navajo rug, king mattress with organic sheets and private bathroom. The four other bedrooms on the main floor feature queen-sized beds, designer comforters, original artwork and unique vintage furnishings. The downstairs, accessible through the kitchen and also by driving directly to the back entry, includes two sunny bedrooms with queen beds, a bathroom with a claw foot tub, and an additional kitchen, with another spacious living room and wood stove. Relax in the front or back living room, both adjacent to the kitchen and dining area and fully furnished for evenings of reading, board games, cards and complimentary netflix movies. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything a chef might need, including a double oven, microwave, toaster oven, blender, coffee grinder, pots/pans. The Game Room off the kitchen is set-up with a pool table and dart board. Board games are in the living room. Outdoor on-site activities include hiking, volleyball, picnics and Frisbee golf. I took these shots yesterday, as the sun emerged after a few months of strong rains. Access to this private river spot in summer, with swimming hole, hammocks and a picnic area, is available as part of the Yuba River Retreat rental. It's part of the private wildlife corridor stretching between the two sections of state park land. Stewarding this land is an honor and my life's work.
