Update on the gas main leak on West Bankhead...

Because of the gas leak on West Bankhead St. in New Albany (in front of Sully's Pawn Shop) this afternoon, we have evacuated our building and closed for the day. Our incoming calls will be answered by our Ripley location until the situation in New Albany resolves. Please be advised that our staff is no longer in our branch office and will not return until the gas leak is repaired successfully. According to New Albany Light Gas and Water, resolution to this interruption is undetermined at this time but is not expected to be a long-outage event. Our drivers are still on duty and will respond to any service calls requested via the Ripley branch.

The weather is creating difficulties for everyone, and Quipt Home Medical is not exempt from these road conditions. Our locations will be impacted by staff's ability to get to work, so our New Albany office will be closed today. Ripley and Corinth are open but working with skeleton crews. Home deliveries and services will be affected at different levels depending on an area's conditions and our drivers' ability to navigate rural roads. Thanks to everyone for your patience! At this time, we hope to be back to full operations tomorrow.

In anticipation of very dangerous road conditions in the next 24-48 hours, Quipt Home Medical is enacting our Inclement Weather Policy, which means that for the safety of our staff members, our locations will be closed and our drivers will be off the road. Secondary roads may be impassable, and main roads will be treacherous. We will have staff on call by telephone in case of emergencies, but road conditions will limit our ability to respond in person. As in the case of any normal weather situation, if an emergency does arise, and we cannot get to you, you will need to be prepared to call 911.

Brrrrrr! Is right! It's cold outside, so everyone reading this should probably do these things:

1. Cover or wrap outside faucets.
2. Keep pets indoors with plenty of water.
3. Check on your elderly neighbors and relatives.
4. Keep open flame sources (fireplaces, wall heaters, candles) away
from your oxygen tubing.
5. If you're an oxygen patient, make sure you have full tanks!

There may even be a chance of snow later in the week, so everyone be safe, stay warm, and God bless you in 2025!
