North Mississippi Medical Center Women’s Hospital will host Baby Fair from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 27, for new and expectant parents.

The free event will be held at the NMMC Women’s Hospital, 4566 S. Eason Blvd., and drawings will be held for several door prizes.

Individuals who pre-register at https://bit.ly/3VCT5il and attend the event will be eligible to win a $500 gift card to Babyland, generously donated by Health Care Foundation of North Mississippi.

Baby Fair will feature giveaways, Labor and Delivery tours, childbirth information and classes on newborn care, breast pumping, car seat safety and infant CPR.

Participants who are at least seven months pregnant can complete the pre-admission process that day.

NMHS Hospice cares for patients with terminal conditions and their families. Hospice provides end-of-life comfort care in patients' homes, nursing homes and hospitals.

Volunteers are a vital part of the Hospice team and can make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Volunteer opportunities include:
• Patient/caregiver companionship
• Event planning
• Clerical/secretarial duties
• Chaplain support

North Mississippi Health Services is pleased to welcome Dr. Lauren Kois to Hamilton Primary Care Center. A native of Marion County, Dr. Kois is a board-certified family physician who brings a strong commitment to compassionate care for individuals and families across all ages.

Dr. Kois graduated from the University of North Alabama and earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine. She completed her residency at UAB Huntsville Family Medicine Residency Program, gaining experience in preventative medicine, women’s health, pediatrics and chronic disease management.

“I chose family medicine because I enjoy so many different aspects of medicine,” she said. “I am looking forward to working with the team in Hamilton to continue providing quality health care across all ages and stages of life for the people here in Marion County. My goal has always been to come home and serve our community, and I am excited for this new opportunity.”

North Mississippi Health Services' Sports Medicine Program and Specialty Orthopedic Group will host a Saturday Morning Sports Injury Clinic on Saturdays through Nov. 15 at 1211 S. Gloster St., Tupelo for any student-athlete who was injured in this week's game.

Doors open at 8 a.m., and injured athletes must register before 8:45 a.m. to be seen during the Saturday clinic. The initial visit is free; X-rays are included but medication is not. For more information, call (662) 767-4200.

This event is for a diverse group of attendees, including several NMHS team members, local provider office administrators and staff, HR benefits leaders from local employers, NMHS board members, community leaders and multiple vendors to enjoy motivational speakers and leadership discussions. The conference also provides a chance to highlight changes and updates as it relates insurance carriers and regulations within the healthcare industry and how it impacts day to day patient care.

This year was the 28th annual conference, and the theme was "Cost-Effective Care: Balancing Quality & Expense."
