✨ Make Yoga Class the Habit You Actually Stick To This Year ✨

We’re about to start the first full week of the new year — the perfect time to set yourself up for a consistent, joyful yoga practice! 🧘‍♀️

I just read a New York Times article that reminded me why willpower alone rarely works. The real trick? Designing your environment and routines so showing up feels natural and easy.

I wrote a new blog post with 5 practical ways to make attending yoga class a habit you actually stick to. From creating cues in your day to reducing friction, these tips make moving from intention to action effortless — no extra willpower needed!

Some tips for maintaining a regular yoga practice... Beyond New Year's Resolutions.⁠

1. Stay Motivated- Try yoga with a friend, or co-worker. If you don't have anyone you can practice with on a regular basis, let someone you trust be an accountability-buddy. Let them know when you are aiming to practice, and have them help keep you accountable, and encourage you to keep going!⁠

2. Schedule Sessions Out. Make your reservations for classes you can come to in advance, and think of them like important appointments you can't miss. Build your schedule and stick with it!⁠

3. Be Consistent. Stick to your scheduled sessions, whether that's once a week, or 5 times a week, stick to your schedule and be consistent. ⁠

4. Set Small Goals. Make your goals realistic and achievable. You know yourself better than anyone- make yourself a set of small, achievable goals, and take one step at a time. It's very difficult to change everything all at once, and that's why many "New Year's Resolutions" don't make it past January. If you need longer to achieve the first small goal, that's okay! Don't see any set backs as failures, and don't give up! Keep going: one small step at a time. ⁠
