🌟 Meet Yolanda Galarza, our amazing Quality Assurance and Specialty Nurse, MSN, RN!

Yolanda collaborates with the specialty providers in ensuring patient needs outside of their rehabilitation are met.

She shared that her short-term goal is to continue growing and learning within this new position. It does not stop there! Long-term she would like to continue to broaden her knowledge and experience.

Thank you to our Woodbine Rehabilitation August Meals on Wheels volunteers, Yanah, from our Medical Records Department and Human Resources Assistant, Brooks.

In addition to volunteering for meal deliveries, Woodbine Rehabilitation is proud to partner with Senior Services of Alexandria to provide the Caring Connection program complementary to residents for one week after a stay in our care. The program consists of Meals on Wheels delivery and a well-check by Senior Services to ensure a safe return to home and continued successful recovery!

Sister Communities, and Rehabilitation and Healthcare Centers had a wonderful time supporting the Lisa Groover, of Corcoran McEnearney, event to shop and support Board of Lady Managers of Inova Alexandria Hospital at Sara Campbell Ltd.

There was a fun raffle and two Board of Lady Managers members were delighted to win our donations! Board of Lady Managers Co-Chair, Barbara Wells, won the Prince Michel Vineyard & Winery branded Woodbine Wine and Donita Greene, Director of Greene Funeral Home in Alexandria won the selection of fun cocktail napkins donated by Alexandria Rehabilitation.

Here at , our Pulmonary Rehab and Ventilator Care Programs provide advanced respiratory support and promote successful weaning outcomes.

Pictured is Melissa Claudio, Director of Respiratory and Danielle Levin, Regional Director of Pulmonary Transitions, both , with two of our specialized devices: the LTV 1200 Ventilator and the Volara System.

We use the latest technology, including LTV 1200 ventilators with multiple modes of ventilation for active weaning of our patients. Additionally, to assist with treating pneumonia or retained secretions, High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation devices, such as The Vest, and Oscillation and Lung Expansion devices, such as Volara, are routinely utilized by our Respiratory Therapists to improve pulmonary outcomes.

Are you ready to send nominations in to celebrate our Alexandria City residents who have lived a century or longer? We are excited to have nominees from our center be participating, and look forward to celebrating them at the September 9th event.

To nominate local seniors who will be 100 or older this year, you can fill out the application here: https://www.alexandriava.gov/Aging

The deadline for applications is Tuesday, August 12th. We can't wait to see who wins the !
