The week of September 21-27 is proclaimed as Mental Health Awareness Days in Albers. The 8th Annual Mental Health Awareness and Memorial Walk in Memory of Sydney Irizarry closes out the week on Friday, September 26 from 6-8p.m. at Lehrter/JC Park. Proceeds benefit 'Swing for Sydney Foundation'.

Dear Students,

As we begin this new school year, I want to remind you of two incredibly important things: kindness and mental health.

First and foremost, kindness matters. Every person you meet is fighting a battle you may not be aware of, so remember to treat others with compassion, respect, and understanding. A smile, a kind word, or a small act of help can make a world of difference in someone’s day. Let’s create an environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.

At the same time, let’s not forget the importance of mental health. It’s okay to not be okay sometimes. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, or just the ups and downs that life brings, know that you’re not alone. Your feelings are valid, and taking care of your mental health is just as important as your academic success.

If you're ever feeling overwhelmed, reach out to a trusted teacher, counselor, or friend. There’s no shame in asking for support—it’s a sign of strength, not weakness.

This school year is a fresh start. Let’s make it one where we lift each other up, practice kindness daily, and make mental health a priority. Together, we can create a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to be their best selves.

Hey everyone,

Just a reminder: your mental health matters. Life can be tough, and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed sometimes. But you don’t have to go through this alone. Talking about your feelings, seeking help, and prioritizing your well-being are signs of strength—not weakness.

Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. Whether it’s reaching out to a friend, practicing self-care, or simply taking a moment to breathe, every step toward better mental health is meaningful.

Let’s break the silence. Let’s support one another. If you ever feel lost, know that there are people who care about you and resources that can help. Your feelings are valid, and you deserve to be heard.

Stay strong. Take care of yourself. And remember: you are never alone in this journey.
