Tomorrow, February 28, six planets will appear lined up in the evening sky. Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will share the same stretch of horizon just after sunset.

If the sky is clear and city lights are low, you may be able to spot several of them with your own eyes.

Venus and Jupiter will look the brightest and easiest to find.

Mercury will sit lower and may require a clear western view.

Saturn will glow with a softer light, while Uranus and Neptune will likely need binoculars or a small telescope to see clearly.

This kind of alignment does not mean the planets form a perfect straight line in space. They simply appear grouped from our point of view on Earth. Even so, seeing six planets gathered across the sky is uncommon and exciting for skywatchers.

The best time to look will be shortly after sunset before the planets sink lower. Find a dark location away from heavy streetlights and tall buildings. Give your eyes time to adjust to the darkness.

Events like this remind us how active and dynamic our solar system truly is.
