Today marks 31 years that I started in the eyeglasses industry. I always give thanks to Carlos Soares for giving this almost 15 year old a chance 31 years ago. He gave me my first real job. He was very patient with the young immature me and taught me how to be the professional Optician I am today. Although I have had my struggles as a small business owner (especially in the last 2-3 years), I still enjoy being an Optician. I'm looking forward to continuing my career as a Licensed Optician. Thank you, Carl, for everything you taught me.

For a long time, the only way to get glasses that allowed you to see at all distances was with either a bifocal or trifocal lens that had a distinct line between distances. Modern progressive lenses make it easy to see near and far without the separating line.
