Reaching for the Brass Ring Oath
I will say yes when someone offers help.
I will forgive myself when I do not get it right.
I will reach for my brass ring and I will do my best to reach for the brass ring of those I am caring for.
I will live in the moment, yet plan for the future.
I will find moments in the day to self-reflect and not feel selfish in the process.
I will pay attention to my health and follow up on challenges right away.
I will provide and accept peacock moments, which create pride, beauty, and confidence.
I will laugh appropriately in public and give myself permission to laugh in private, maintaining respect and dignity for the person I am caring for.
I will respectfully share what is under the person’s iceberg to support the caregivers who are helping me.
I will draw strength from what I deem to be my belief system.
