Spring is a time of transition - shifting from the inward and often slow moving thick energy of winter to the lighter more energetic spark of spring.
This transition plays out many ways in our lives... and in our bodies.
This is the season we honor our bodies’ natural pathways of elimination, specifically the liver, kidneys, lymph, and lungs as we release winter’s stagnancy and make way for the fresh life + growth of this new season!
I don’t often use the word “detox” because it’s so misused and overused in our mainstream culture.
I don’t like it because it often implies that something is wrong with us or there’s something that we need to harshly remove from our bodies so we can be well again (this is most often not the case.)
The truth of it is that our body is always “detoxing”, all day every day.
Every time you p*e, p**p, sweat, EXHALE, and sleep your body is processing and releasing internal metabolic waste and external environmental chemicals.
Luckily herbs offer so much in terms of supporting your body’s natural pathways of elimination, aka detoxification!
That’s one of the things I absolutely love about herbalism.
Herbs don’t hijack the body and make it do something different, they just support the natural processes that your body is already doing on its own, offering nourishment and ease.
Spring is the perfect time to connect with these liver, kidney, lymph, and lung supporting herbs and here are THREE ways for you to do so!
1️⃣ Wild Heart’s new Liver Love tincture blend! This potent extraction of dandelion root, burdock root, and milk thistle seed naturally supports, protects, and nourishes the liver. Perfect for you if you’ve been feeling sluggish, heavy, slow in digestion, or experiencing skin breakouts or eczema.
2️⃣ Join me on a plant walk this Saturday morning to meet IRL the liver, lymph, kidney, and lung supporting herbs that pop up in the spring!
3️⃣ Attend our Spring Herbalism Day Retreat on May 9 to connect with these herbs more deeply, forage and create a skin soothing salve and kidney and liver supporting tincture!
