Who We Are
For the last several years, I have become more and more interested in women’s roles in history. From the early days of the Suffragettes and the Dustbowl to the plight of those during WWI and WWII, women have been the foundation of the home, the workplace and the family, usually while wearing a corset or girdle. ;)
With the latest averages, women are the sole parent in close to 85% of all single parent households, yet we are still seeing news stories of “the first woman _____” fill in the blank of institutions, governments, health care services and more.
This is NOT a page for political and/or ultra feminist agendas, but is instead, a page devoted to discovery, photography, celebrations, historical figures, articles, programs and resources for all of us to increase our knowledge and strengthen our voice. Now more than ever, we need to learn more about the amazing women, who overcame so much, and about those who are still in the trenches.
