"Unfortunately I took a bad fall out of a chair backwards around the beginning of June. I went to Carolina East Medical Center ER two days after the fall due to being in so much agonizing pain that I could barely walk. I had tingling on both sides of my lower extremities accompanied by numbness. Carolina East did a CT scan and couldn’t find anything. One of my best friends told me about this amazing place called Frogley’s. I had been in agonizing pain for days at this point and I was literally willing to try anything. I could barely walk three steps without help. I couldn’t get up by myself, I couldn’t clothe myself, and I certainly had lots of issues bathing. I decided to make an appointment as soon as possible. I knew something had to change and fast. Little did I know that these amazing people would literally change my life in a matter of a month! Mrs. Marcia was always ready to greet me with the most beautiful and welcoming smile. Optimism radiates from this wonderful lady which is exactly what I needed for such a dark and desperate situation I had found myself in. No matter how pessimistic I was due to the state of my condition she stayed optimistic the entire time and never radiated anything but positivity. Mrs. Marcia took me by the hands everyday for nearly 2 weeks and helped me walk no matter how slow we had to go and some days I was doing good to put one foot in front of the other with tears just streaming down my face. Dr. McLaughlin was the first chiropractor to ever adjust me, he helped me up off the table and asked me to take three steps. As soon as I took those three steps I cried tears of joy and immediately without skipping a beat I gave him the biggest hug he’s probably ever received! I told him “I felt like I had been touched by the hand of God“ and of course as I knew he would, he replied with “God works through our hands!”. Right then and there I knew I had found the people that would be able to fix me. I had several vertebrae out of place all the way from my neck down to my tailbone. I have been in awe and shock ever since I started going to Frogley’s. Dr. Charles is also an amazing Dr as well! He has done all of my adjustments since and I wouldn’t trade either of them for anything. Fast forward to July 8th…… I can walk, I can fish, I can build stuff for my chickens, and I can just in general enjoy life itself. You can’t go wrong with anyone in the entire establishment! The entire staff is a complete Godsend!" - Kelli

Dr. Payton McLaughlin, PT, DPT is a Physical Therapist, and the founder of M Wellness. She was born and raised in Morehead City, where she played travel sports and was into exercise her entire life. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from UNCW, and then her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Belmont University in Nashville, TN.

She has had experience in many different settings, working mostly with active individuals that strive to move better and feel better as a whole. She just recently moved from Raleigh back to her hometown of Morehead City to treat patients one-on-one and to teach reformer pilates locally back in her favorite beach town at M Wellness!

At M Wellness, their passion is helping you move better, feel stronger, and thrive in your everyday life. Whether you're healing, strengthening, or simply prioritizing self-care, their team is available to guide you every step of the way.
