Craven County Government facilities will partially re-open at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Craven County remains in a State of Emergency. Residents should remain cautious when traveling.

Essential services, including law enforcement and first responders, remain operational at all times.

County Services:
• Trash & Recycling - Craven County Solid Waste Convenience Centers will be closed on Wednesday, February 4 (as is normal for a Wednesday). Craven County curbside trash and recycling pickup will resume on Wednesday, February 4. Crews will be operating at a reduced speed due to ongoing condition issues on secondary roads and will do their best to service all roads they can. Green week recycling customers should place their carts out on Wednesday and leave them out until they have been serviced. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday trash customers should place carts out on Wednesday and leave them out until they have been serviced. Thursday and Friday trash customers should place carts out on their regularly scheduled service day and leave them out until they have been serviced. GFL will be working through Saturday to complete routes this week.
• Parks & Recreation Facilities – All Craven County parks, programs, and facilities will remain closed on Wednesday, February 4.
• Offices & Services – All general County services will open at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 4.
• CARTS – The Craven Area Rural Transit System (CARTS) will not operate on Wednesday, February 4.
• Senior Services – The Senior Center will remain closed on Wednesday, February 4. Senior Services Congregate and Home Delivered Meals will not operate on Wednesday, February 4.
• Emergency Services – Essential services, such as law enforcement and first responders, will remain operational. Call 911 if you need emergency assistance.

Craven County Government facilities will remain closed on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, for all non-essential personnel, due to hazardous road conditions resulting from Winter Storm Gianna. Craven County remains in a State of Emergency.

Due to large amounts of snowfall, driving conditions are extremely dangerous throughout parts of Craven County. Crews will need more time to clear roads for safe travel. Residents should remain cautious when traveling.

Essential services, including law enforcement and first responders, will remain operational.

• Trash & Recycling - Craven County Solid Waste Convenience Centers will be closed on Tuesday, February 3. Craven County curbside trash and recycling service will be suspended on Tuesday, February 3. Curbside pickup will resume on Wednesday, February 4. Monday and Tuesday pickups will be collected on Wednesday, Wednesday pickups on Thursday, Thursday pickups on Friday, and Friday pickups on Saturday. Additional schedule changes may occur depending on ongoing road conditions.

The Craven County Health Department, along with other county offices, will be closed December 24 - 26 for the Christmas holiday.

Craven County Government offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26 in observance of Christmas. Offices will reopen on Monday, December 29.
