Craven County Government facilities will remain closed on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, for all non-essential personnel, due to hazardous road conditions resulting from Winter Storm Gianna. Craven County remains in a State of Emergency.
Due to large amounts of snowfall, driving conditions are extremely dangerous throughout parts of Craven County. Crews will need more time to clear roads for safe travel. Residents should remain cautious when traveling.
Essential services, including law enforcement and first responders, will remain operational.
County Services:
• Trash & Recycling - Craven County Solid Waste Convenience Centers will be closed on Tuesday, February 3. Craven County curbside trash and recycling service will be suspended on Tuesday, February 3. Curbside pickup will resume on Wednesday, February 4. Monday and Tuesday pickups will be collected on Wednesday, Wednesday pickups on Thursday, Thursday pickups on Friday, and Friday pickups on Saturday. Additional schedule changes may occur depending on ongoing road conditions.
• Parks & Recreation Facilities – All Craven County parks, programs, and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, February 3.
• Offices & Services – All general County services will be suspended on Tuesday, February 3.
• CARTS – The Craven Area Rural Transit System (CARTS) will not operate on Tuesday, February 3.
• Senior Meals – Senior Services Meals will not operate on Tuesday, February 3.
• Emergency Services – Essential services, such as law enforcement and first responders, will remain operational. Call 911 if you need emergency assistance.
