Happy Monday! We have added a new provider to our booming Jacksonville office. Elizabeth Raynor, FNP-BC, is now ready for patients to be scheduled with her. Here are some fun facts about Mrs. Raynor:

1. What inspired you to become a health care provider?
I have wanted to be a Nurse Practitioner since I was a child. My mom died of cancer when I was 14, and needless to say that had a huge impact on me. For many years, a large part of my childhood was spent going to visit her in the hospital. As a child watching your parent go through something like that, and having a birds eye view of the amazing care the doctors/nurses provided to her sealed the deal for me. I knew without a shadow of doubt, that I wanted to make an impact on people and care for others the way others cared for my mom.
2. What are your hobbies?
I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and grandchildren. As far as hobbies, I like to fish, boat, and relax at the beach or swimming pool.
3. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I was 40 years old when I started nursing school.
4. Favorite quote
Be strong. You never know who you are inspiring.
5. A message to the patients
I love what I do, and am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a great team at Crystal Coast Pain Management.

We are pleased to announce that we have added a new provider to our CCPM family. Tosha Marquardt is a Physician Assistant that will be working in our Morehead City and New Bern offices. She comes to us with an extensive background and we are thrilled to have her. Here are a few questions we asked Tosha, to get to know her:

1. What inspired you to become a health care provider?
"Becoming a provider allowed me to nurture my need to care for others while learning and applying science to improve sickness and maintain health."

2. What are your hobbies?
"Reading, boating, hiking, kayaking, playing with our dogs, visiting farmer’s market, shell collecting."

3. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
"I read one to two novels a week! I also love nature and all creatures! I am obsessed with our golden doodle and sheepadoodle. Since our children are out of the house, they have become our spoiled babies and we love to take them out to the islands to explore."

4. Favorite quote?
“Its your outlook on life that counts. If you take yourself lightly and don’t take yourself too seriously, pretty soon you find the humor in everyday life”.

We'd like to welcome Jessica Foley, PA-C to our Morehead City office. She has started seeing patients and we are happy to have her! Here are a few questions answered in order to get to know Jess:

What inspired you to become a health care provider?
"As a young child, I had some health problems that required frequent medical evaluation and testing. Through it all, I was never afraid to go to the doctor nor was I afraid of needles. In fact, I was excited to go to the doctor’s appointments. I looked forward to getting my blood drawn. I had an innate interest with medicine and the healthcare field. I was also appreciative of the doctors and nurses that were taking care of me, and I wanted to be like them."

What are your hobbies?
"Exercise (walking, hiking, running, spinning), spending as much time with family and friends as possible!"

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
"I have a twin brother"

Favorite quote (if you have one)?
"I’m not sure if this counts as a favorite quote, but, “Compared to what?”. My stepdad always taught us to take other people’s situations into account and compare it to your current situation. This has helped me throughout life to keep everything in perspective!"

Happy Monday! Our provider highlight for this month is Colleen Kelly PA-C.
-What inspired you to become a health care provider?
"I started the route of becoming a health care provider while I was a teacher. I joined the Army National Guard as a combat medic. From there, I learned of the Physician Assistant profession and worked to get into a program. I have worked as an EMT along the way and knew that I was in the right job. I thoroughly enjoyed working with patients."

-What are your hobbies?
"My hobbies include swimming, biking, and running (i.e. Triathlon). I haven’t completed one recently but will be soon, hopefully (after COVID). I also help out with Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Awana. "

-Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
"I was a high jumper in college and could jump over an average person. My best jump was 5’ 8 ½."

-Favorite quote?
"Do to others what you would want done to you."

-A message to patients
"I enjoy interacting every day with my patients and learning their stories. "
