Calling all Special Olympics Craven County Athletes! We're excited to begin our fall season this week with a Fall Sports Interest Meeting on Thursday, August 28th, at 5:00 at the Rotary Shelter in Creekside Park (1821 Old Airport Rd, New Bern).

We'll be going over info for our two fall sports, Bocce and Soccer, as well as getting paperwork filled out so athletes are ready to go for their first practice. Athletes may sign up to practice with both teams for the whole season, but will decide which team to attend competitions with by October 1st.

Special Olympics Craven County is excited to host the annual April Showers Swim Meet for our athletes on Saturday, April 5th, from 12:00-4:00 at the TWIN RIVERS YMCA. As always, all of our programs are at no cost to our participants, and we depend on the volunteer support of our community to run the event.

Congratulations to all of the athletes who participated in this year's Basketball Skills Competition! Over the past two weeks, 250 athletes came with their school classes, group homes, or family to show off their skills on the court.

Special Olympics Craven County would like to thank the TWIN RIVERS YMCA for allowing us to use their beautiful facility, the Tryon Civitan Club, Twin Rivers Paddle Club - New Bern, and the Havelock High School NJROTC unit for their help as volunteers, and to the amazing teachers and staff from all of the schools and group homes who took the time to register their athletes and bring them to the event.

We look forward to seeing everyone on April 10th, 2025 for our Spring Games Track and Field Competition!
