Special Olympics Craven County is excited for our fast-approaching 2026 Spring Games, and we're looking for volunteers to help run this amazing event! We'll be at Havelock High School on Thursday, April 16th, from 8:45 until 12:30 celebrating our local athletes as they compete in Track and Field events. Volunteer opportunities include helping with event set-up, timing and scoring events, and awards calculation and presentation.

Special Olympics Craven County would like to send a huge thank-you to Barnhill Contracting Company for their generous donation to our program! After a few rain-outs, they held a charity softball tournament this past weekend, and chose us to be the recipient of the proceeds. We appreciate their support for our athletes and our local community!

This past Saturday, athletes from Special Olympics Craven County traveled to New Hanover County to compete in our second Bocce invitational of the season. They had a great time at the event, and returned home with an assortment of medals. Way to go, team!

Calling all Special Olympics Craven County Athletes! We're excited to begin our fall season this week with a Fall Sports Interest Meeting on Thursday, August 28th, at 5:00 at the Rotary Shelter in Creekside Park (1821 Old Airport Rd, New Bern).

We'll be going over info for our two fall sports, Bocce and Soccer, as well as getting paperwork filled out so athletes are ready to go for their first practice. Athletes may sign up to practice with both teams for the whole season, but will decide which team to attend competitions with by October 1st.
