We had a wonderful time celebrating National Maritime Day with a special trip to the Beaufort Maritime Museum. Residents enjoyed learning about North Carolina fisheries, Blackbeard the pirate, and the history of maritime life before spending time along the waterfront taking in the beautiful views. Today we enjoyed a beautiful drive to historic Beaufort for a wonderful afternoon filled with great food, scenic views, and even better company. Lunch at Clawson’s was a hit, with residents enjoying delicious meals and meaningful time together. Our residents had a wonderful time decorating festive 4th of July hats with Charlotte from Liberty Home Care and Hospice. The afternoon was filled with creativity, laughter, and patriotic fun as everyone designed their own unique masterpiece. Nelson and friends had a wonderful time planting tomatoes, watermelon, cucumbers, and fresh herbs in the courtyard garden with help from Keisha at Broad River Rehab. Gardening activities like these bring residents together through teamwork, laughter, and shared purpose. We are already looking forward to enjoying the harvest at next month’s tomato sandwich social.

Our Cooking Club had a wonderful time celebrating National Apple Pie Day by baking homemade apple pies together and enjoying them warm with vanilla ice cream. Activities like cooking class encourage connection, spark happy memories, and give residents the chance to share something they love with friends. Miss Jackie’s smile says it all as she enjoyed an afternoon filled with laughter, teamwork, and sweet treats.
