During the June 2017 UK heatwave, as temperatures climbed to nearly 90°F, Isca Academy in England upheld a uniform policy that barred boys from wearing shorts, requiring long trousers even in extreme heat. In response, students arrived in skirts in protest.

One student later reflected on the experience, saying, “I enjoyed the nice breeze.”
