PAM Health Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital of New Braunfels is a Joint Commission Accredited, 32 bed, Long-Term Acute Care and Inpatient Rehabilitation hospital. We offer personalized clinical and medical services to those patients who require extended observation and monitoring for complex medical issues. PAM Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital of New Braunfels is driven to obtain the bes

t possible outcome for our patients. We use an individual care planning process with specific goals to meet the needs of our various patients. A long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) is recommended for those who require complex medical management, therapeutic care and rehabilitation services -- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with daily assessment of the patient by a physician. PAM Specialty Hospital has received the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission for Respiratory Failure. In our Inpatient Rehabilitation hospital, patients benefit from individualized programs that feature one-on-one therapy, daily physician visits and a nurse/patient ratio that will help them regain their highest level of function and ensure a safe return home. Patients who have experienced stroke, brain injury, neurological disease and deficits, amputations, pulmonary disease, orthopedic conditions, spinal cord injury and medically complex conditions may benefit from inpatient medical rehabilitation. A Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician specifically trained in rehabilitation directs the rehabilitation program. Our medical staff is comprised of highly trained medical specialists who

manage any medical issues, providing the most comprehensive medical care for each patient. In addition to medical management, our Therapy Services include: Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Rehabilitation Nursing, and Case Management

Did you know that Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862? While often mistakenly thought of as Mexico's Independence Day (which is actually celebrated on September 16), Cinco de Mayo holds significance as a symbol of Mexican resilience and unity. Today, it's celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla in Mexico and also widely observed in the United States as a day to honor Mexican culture and heritage.

April 28 of every year is World Day for Safety and Health at Work, organized by the International Labour Organization to promote the importance of health and safety and the prevention of accidents in all types of workplaces.

Although preventing injuries is key, when accidents happen, we are here to help with our comprehensive Worker’s Compensation Program. Our interdisciplinary team of workers’ comp program directors, therapists, doctors, and other specialists prioritize getting injured workers the care they need, when they need it.

Our programs not only help patients recover from work-related injuries but also help them plan for life after discharge from our hospital, from return-to-work plans and strategies to prevent re-injury. Learn more about our Workers’ Comp program here: https://nuvi.me/faizo5

We are also proud to partner with other organizations in our community to promote healthier outcomes for us all. We love getting out in our community, whether it’s volunteering at local events, hosting fun activities, or teaching about what PAM Health offers.

According to the CDC, about 12% of Americans have a diabetes diagnosis, while 27.6% live with undiagnosed diabetes. What’s more – 115.2 million Americans live with prediabetes, which means they are at risk of developing diabetes.

Fortunately, there are lifestyle factors you can control to lower your risk of a diabetes diagnosis or manage symptoms if you currently live with it.

April is Defeat Diabetes Month, and PAM Health is here to help with therapy programs that can improve function and address complications related to diabetes, such as wounds and heart, vascular, kidney, and nerve issues. Learn more: https://nuvi.me/wcrsm6
