Here are three gentle cues your body might use to say, “I’m overwhelmed.”
🔹Muscle tension that keeps creeping back: Maybe it’s tight shoulders, a stiff neck, jaw clenching, or low back tension.
Sometimes this is your body’s way of bracing when your nervous system has been carrying more stress than it can process.
🔹Changes in your breath: You might notice shallow breathing, frequent sighing, or feeling like you can’t quite get a full breath.
Your breath is deeply connected to your nervous system state, so when overwhelm builds, your breathing patterns often change too.
🔹Feeling wired but tired: Your body feels exhausted, but your mind keeps going.Maybe it’s harder to relax, sleep, or settle your thoughts.
These cues can be signs that your nervous system could use a little more support. Your body is always trying to adapt, regulate, and protect you. Learning to notice these small signals is one powerful way to start supporting your health.
Take a breath, check in with your body, and remember, you don’t have to wait until things feel big to take care of yourself. 🫶🏽
