Same person has now hacked our Simply page so Facebook is not letting me post for 90 days due to the scam video, which I DID NOT post! Not sure how to remedy this issue as I have already reported the problem, including the profile name.

Just wanting to let customers know that my Simply Herbs page has been hacked. In the last few days, a video was posted selling a product with a website attached saying something about “as seen on shark tank.” Simply Herbs did not post this, nor did I even see it. (I knew what it was by all the comments.). I would never promote, post, or sell any type of gimmick. Someone posting under the name Thomas Bell added himself as an admin to my page, as well as adding another person named Syahriany Hamsyah Haruna as another admin. Facebook is not giving me the option to delete these people as admin even though I have no idea who they are. I apologize for any inconvenience. This is a scam and is not associated with my business at all.

Happy Earth Day, my friends! Over the last year, I have had so many clients ask if I had ditched social media altogether. Well, the answer to that question is, “No, however...” Just as the pandemic began to hit, my priorities began to shift. My 97 year old grandmother had some health issues so helping care for her in another town became one of my top priorities. She is now doing so much better and is back to being the pistol we all adore. However...just as my priorities had shifted, my focus has also begun to shift. We are beginning to blaze a completely new trail in our area. In the last year, we have been in the planning and building stages of an amazing project that will connect and benefit our local community here and around NB. As my passion for botanicals, medicinals, and a holistic lifestyle paired with my love for sharing knowledge and nature has become my path, we are following that passion wholeheartedly. We will soon be opening classes on a variety of topics revolving around earth medicine, plant communication, botanical intensives, organic gardening and cooking, and steps to building a holistic lifestyle, along with many other subjects. These classes will be taught in an incredibly beautiful outdoor setting in a secret garden among the medicinal and edible plants about which we are learning, whereby utilizing all the five senses for an immersion experience. As of now, people are having to travel out of town to be able to attend these kinds of classes. Our focus is to continue connect a tribe of individuals with a passion for “bees, trees, and seas” who are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the natural world and building a lifestyle in tune with the seasons. We will soon be opening early enrollment for both adults, as well as children. As customers continue to pick up orders daily, they seem to be as excited as we are about the progress of the project. And though we are definitely looking forward to the end goal, we are breathing deeply and trying to enjoy the process. It is amazing how life, when lived with intention, can lead us to take a barefoot path that we never would have imagined but now follow in complete peace. As we are working on this huge undertaking, I am continuing to grow, create, and sell my herbal teas, tinctures, tonics, syrups, topicals, and skincare (as well as a ton of organic pastured eggs) daily. So if you’re needing anything, please feel free to reach out to me. Keep liking and sharing our posts and watching for updates and new photos of our progress. And today, go outside and put your hands to the earth and your face to the sun and appreciate all that they have to share with you. Happy Earth Day and enjoy the sunshine! Peace & Plants!

Gifts from the garden, made into medicine. I keep getting asked for advice on what to do to stay healthy during these unpredictable times and I keep saying the same things. First, build and maintain a strong immune system. Second, strengthen your digestion for maximum absorption of nutrients. Third, plenty of deep sleep. And fourth, reduce stress as much as possible. Of course, you also want to eat nutrient dense foods, move daily, hydrate with WATER, get plenty of sunshine (vitamin D), and breathe deeply. Also if you’re looking to take other things, vitamin C and zinc come to mind, as well as other antivirals. These are all an herbalist’s perspective and proactive approach to health and wellness. Stay well my friends, and enjoy the sunshine! Peace & Plants!

While we are at home, some may be struggling with sleeplessness and/or anxiety. Your local herbalist may be able to help with both. I carry both Sound Asleep Tincture, as well as several different formulations of Anti Anxiety Tinctures. I also carry various blends of both in herbal tea, if preferred. And as always, I have several herbals for immune support. Please reach out to me if there is something you’re needing. You should be able to have some peace and rest during these uncertain times. Remember, we are all in this together. Peace & Plants!

Amid the fear and chaos surrounding all of the things we cannot control, let us remember the things we are able to control. The way we respond during these times speaks volumes about who we are. Something that we do have some authority over is our immune system. It is the first line of defense in ALL illness. There are many things we can do to strengthen and maintain a healthy immune response. A healthy diet with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, drinking water, and eating food and herbs with lots of antioxidants is a key part, along with ingesting probiotics (whether through food, herbs, or capsules). There are also many herbal formulations that provide vitamins and minerals, as well as build a healthy immune system. Elder is a perfect example, but by far NOT the only one. There are adaptogenic herbs (that help the way our bodies respond to stressors), antiviral herbs, and tonic herbs (which build systems of the body for healing). I carry both an IMMUNE Boost Tincture and a VITAMIN Tonic Tincture, as well as an Adaptogen Tincture that are all specifically indicated for the immune system along with our overall health and wellness. Of course, I also carry many Immuni-Teas, as well as Echinacea and Elderberry. Let’s all try to be proactive in this situation and take care of our bodies so they can take care of us. Please reach out to me if there is anything you’re needing. Stay well and enjoy the sunshine! Peace & Plants!

Okay. The long short on Elderberry and this virus. As far as immune support and building, elderberry (along with many other herbs) are perfect for these kinds of situations. However, if you start feeling as if you are getting this particular virus, there is a possibility of what is called a cytokine storm, when your immune system kicks into overdrive and can possibly exacerbate the symptoms and illness, albeit a small possibility. There isn’t really much in the way of research since this is such a new illness. However, it is better to err on the side of caution in this situation. They are also stating not to use ibuprofen, as it is also contraindicated for this virus. So, you can use elderberry, as well as other immune supporting herbs to stay healthy. However, in an acute situation, where you would normally dose on elderberry several times a day, it may be a better idea to use other herbal formulations to help with symptoms such as fever (even though you don’t want to knock out the fever completely as that is how our bodies kill the pathogens). There are also other antivirals that may be used that are better in this case. If there is anything you’re needing, please feel free to message me. Just try and be in the moment and breathe. Stay well and try to enjoy the sunshine! Peace & Plants!

For all of my clients who have been asking about Elderberry Syrup and Elderberry Tinctures, I just got my new shipment of bottles to fill. For those wondering about the recent information regarding the Coronavirus and elderberry contraindications, I will explain a little more about that this evening. But for now, just know that it is still a safe way to keep a strong immune system, which should always be our first line of defense. In acute situations of this particular virus however, we will err on the side of caution in the very small chance of contraindications for elderberry. There are plenty of other herbals we can use that help with fever (do not use ibuprofen, as it is also contraindicated), as well as other herbals that are antivirals. I did have to adjust my price a bit due to the shortage of elderberries that caused the price of the elderberries to double, but hopefully this is only temporary. I have a limited supply of each so anyone who is looking will have to order and pick up within a couple of days. Also, I carry several other herbal formulations to support a healthy immune system. Just message me if you are needing something, including organic eggs, which is also limited. Like I always say, it’s better to be proactive and do what we can to stay well that reactive should we become ill. Also, because of our current situation, I am doing only porch pick ups rather than having customers in my home. Thank you for your understanding. Happy springtime, stay well, and enjoy the sunshine! Peace & Plants!

Have you or anyone you know ever been interested in learning about plants and how to use them for your own family’s health? Do you ever wonder how all of this herbal and earth medicine works? Well, don’t feel alone. I have had so many clients asking about learning more about herbs that I am finally taking the plunge. After sharing and educating, as well as doing a radio program, I am currently seeking a space for teaching herbal classes here in New Braunfels. I am considering all options, along with different levels of programs. I will eventually be doing day camps for children too! I want to share my knowledge and love of the plants starting at a young age. I also want people to not only to try living a more holistic life, including our healing, but also promote our connectedness with nature and appreciation for is all around us. These will be small classes on a rotating basis and I would love input from customers about what they would like to learn, as well as if anyone should have or know of spaces for indoor and outdoor classes. Thanks in advance! Have a wonderful day and enjoy the sunshine! Peace & Plants!
