Our residents lit up with joy — because let’s be honest, there’s just something magical about a furry friend bringing unconditional love & comfort.

This weekend, a group of our incredible Mercy House staff traveled to Burnet to help with the cleanup at Pafford Place — an Assisted Living Community devastated by the flooding over the July 4th weekend. 💔🌧️

With hearts full of compassion & hands ready to serve, our team rolled up their sleeves to sort through debris & personal belongings, offering comfort and support to those who lost not only their home, but a part of their family.

While some were on the ground in Burnet, others were busy delivering the many generous donations we collected for our neighbors across the Hill Country — distributing muck kits, water, tools, hygiene supplies & food to those in need.

It was a weekend of giving back, with Staff from across our Mercy House locations, coming together to serve in any way they could. It was humbling to witness the strength & resilience of the people we met — and an honor to walk alongside them during such a difficult time.

We are grateful to be part of something greater than ourselves — showing up with love, dignity, & grace, every single day for our Residents & their families. 💙🙏

❤️Mercy House – Food & Supplies Drive for the Hill Country❤️

Our hearts go out to our neighbors in the Hill Country that have been devastated by the recent flooding, & we’re coming together to help‼️

Mercy House is collecting essential food & supplies to deliver this next Saturday to those in need. Donations can be dropped off Monday–Friday (Please drop off at A house; 550 Rock St., New Braunfels, Texas).

📦 What’s Needed:
• Hygiene Products (soap, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine items)
• Non-Perishable Food
• Bottled Water
• Baby Items (diapers, formula)
• Pet Supplies
• Flashlights
• Batteries
• First Aid Kits
• Bleach

🇺🇸 This 4th of July, we pause to give heartfelt thanks to all those—past & present—who have fought for & preserved our independence since 1776. We are grateful EVERY SINGLE DAY for the FREEDOM we enjoy because of their sacrifices.❤️🤍💙

We had a fantastic time with Melissa from Compassus Hospice, who joined us for a fun & festive morning of making patriotic pinwheels with our residents! 🎆✨ We finished off with a snack of popsicles🔥 The room was full of smiles, laughter, & red, white & blue cheer—what a wonderful way to honor our country & enjoy each other’s company.

💙 Thank you, Melissa, and thank you Compassus, for bringing joy & meaningful moments to Mercy House!

🐾Paws,Smiles&Sweet Visits🐾

We had the best kind of visit yesterday when Sonija Tedesco & her sweet pup, Sadie from Alliance Therapy Dogs came to see us‼️

🐶Sadie, a King Charles Cavalier, came trotting in with her wagging tail&left with everyone’s hearts!💕Our residents lit up with joy during her visit — there’s just something about a loving dog that brings instant comfort&happiness, am I right?🐶💖

We’re thrilled to share that Sonija & Sadie will now be visiting us every other Thursday morning, bringing their special kind of love & therapy to our community.
🗓️🐕Their next visit is Thursday, July 17th — and we can’t wait!

✨We’d especially like to thank Mr. Rick Horn, for making this beautiful connection happen between Sonija & us & for making these visits happen for our Mercy House Family!!

🎉🇺🇸 Nothing says Summer like a Bomb Pop on a hot Texas day — and we had a blast celebrating ‘National Bomb Pop Day’ with our Mercy House Residents! 💥🍭

Smiles were wide, tongues were blue, and the sweet taste of nostalgia was in the air. Watching our Residents enjoy these classic treats took us all back to simpler times. ❤️💙🤍
