The purpose of this page is to share information with parents and counselors alike on child development topics and play therapy. I am available for parent workshops, as well as providing professional training and workshops regarding Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Supporting Military Families, and counseling children. Lisa Remey is also an Association for Play Therapy, APT Approved Provider 15-420. Lisa Remey has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6749. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Lisa Remey is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

"Good job" is ingrained in so many of us. So many of us heard it from parents, caregivers, teachers, and other adults in our lives. It's such a common thing to say to young kids.

Saying "good job" isn't inherently bad or wrong. But what if we acknowledged them in a more specific and meaningful way, instead? What if when we hear ourselves say "good job" we added one of these phrases next?

Often the intention behind "good job" is to try to communicate to that kiddo that we notice them. When we say it a lot though, it can start to feel like empty praise rather than genuine acknowledgment and connection.

Is "good job" a phrase that comes up for you in the moment?
