Did you know, smartphones need to be rebooted every now and then? When a hearing aid to phone connection is interrupted, the first step to correct it is to reboot the phone, or in other words turn it off and turn it on again. We suggest giving it a go as soon as you experience connectivity issues. Often times, thats all thats needed to get things connected again. We recommend a reboot at least once per week.

Much like powering down a computer, different smartphones are shut down in different ways. A quick flick of the fingers to sleep/wake the screen isn’t the same as rebooting. If you are unsure how to reboot your phone, check the manual or search online.

PSA: HEARING AID USERS - WATCH OUT FOR MASK HANGUPS

We’ve read some cases on the internet where patients lose their hearings aids when taking off their protective face masks. Whether it’s the over the ear loop or the over the head type mask, a hearing aid can easily be snagged and fall to the ground to be stepped on or lost completely.

We’ve recreated the scenario using a hearing aid that we would fit on our patients. On each attempt, we could not effectively make the hearing aid fall to the ground. Even so, this is more likely to happen when the hearing aid is dislodged from behind the ear, which we did see happen as a result of removing the mask on a few occasions.

So take care when removing your masks everyone! And if one is lost, we’re still here to help with the replacement or repair process curbside or porch-side.

Mobile appointments are suspended until further notice. For the time being we will be available for office visits however; we strongly recommend avoiding unnecessary appointments. Following our maintenance videos or consulting with our staff over the phone can help fix most issues at home.

To do our part to protect our patients health in the office, we will be sanitizing frequently touched surfaces after each appointment.
