What an incredible first week in Malawi!
PINCC has just wrapped up our first-ever clinic in Malawi, partnering with Child Legacy International to bring life-saving cervical cancer prevention to this community. Over the past week, our dedicated team screened more than 200 women for HPV where there was a 35% positivity rate, 23% higher than the global average. Even more importantly, we certified 7 local healthcare providers in VIAA (visual inspection with acetic acid) and thermocoagulation—equipping them with the skills to continue this critical work long after our team leaves.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, PINCC has donated a life-saving thermocoagulator to Child Legacy International, ensuring that thousands more women will have access to screening and treatment in the future. Our mission is simple—eliminate a disease that is 100% preventable.
About Child Legacy International (CLI) and Our Partnership:
Child Legacy International was co-founded in 2008 by Jeff Rogers after his impactful experience in Zimbabwe in the late '80s. Initially focused on primary healthcare, orphan care, and vocational training, CLI has since grown into a thriving community hospital in Malawi, serving over 80,000 people, with a special focus on maternal health. This remarkable facility is sustained through innovative agricultural practices, including coffee and macadamia nut farming, which generate operational funds. With a dedicated staff of around 140, CLI provides services free of charge, while also empowering the community through skills training for children, HIV+ women, and ongoing education for staff.
Located in Ta Kalolo, Malawi, CLI’s mission is to empower communities and promote self-sufficiency, transforming challenges into opportunities and creating a positive economic impact. We are proud to partner with CLI, bringing life-saving cervical cancer prevention services to this remarkable organization and the communities they serve.
Malawi is ranked the fourth poorest country in the world, second in the world for the highest rate of cervical cancer and leading the world in deaths per capita from cervical cancer.
As Jeff Rogers, CEO & co-founder of Child Legacy International, shared:
"I think this partnership is critical in a country that suffers from high numbers of cervical cancer, and it shouldn’t be that way. Partnering with PINCC allows us to become a solution to a critical problem."
We are excited to announce that we plan to return to CLI in 2026, introducing this site as a Training Facility in Malawi. This will allow our recently certified trainees to become trainers in thermal ablation, sharing their new knowledge with additional healthcare providers and ensuring that women—from city centers to rural villages—have the opportunity to live a life free of cervical cancer.
