Delilah Beasley
Many consider Delilah Leontium Beasley to be the first Black massage therapist. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1871, Beasley is considered one of the earliest and most prominent examples of African American massage practitioners. In 1910, she moved to California and worked as a nurse and maid in Oakland.
