🚨 New Jersey Blood Services Declares Blood Emergency 🚨

Severe winter storms, widespread flu, and holiday disruptions have caused donations to drop nearly 40%, leaving our region with less than a two-day supply of blood. Local patients—trauma victims, surgery patients, and those fighting cancer—are at serious risk.

Even a small increase in donors can make a huge difference. Be the lifeline. Donate blood today. Schedule your donation: https://bit.ly/3Z1LjjK

As we start the new year, we’re reflecting on the lives changed because of you. 💫

Julia’s message is a powerful reminder that blood donors aren’t just filling appointments — they’re saving lives, today and all year long. Each photo you see represents someone who made time, showed compassion, and helped a patient see another tomorrow.

Kick off your new year the right way and make a donation! From now through January 2, all who come to donate can choose a beanie or socks as our thank you. To everyone who donated in 2025 — thank you for showing up again and again. You’re ending this year as heroes! 💪

Our Story

New Jersey Blood Services is a division of New York Blood Center. Founded in 1964, the New York Blood Center Network (NYBC) is a nonprofit organization that is one of the largest independent, community-based blood centers in the world. NYBC, along with its partner organizations Community Blood Center of Kansas City, Missouri (CBC), Innovative Blood Resources (IBR), Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD), and Rhode Island Blood Center (RIBC), collect approximately 4,000 units of blood products each day and serve local communities of more than 45 million people in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT), Mid Atlantic area (PA, DE, MD), the Kansas City metropolitan area, Minnesota, Nebraska, Rhode Island, and Southern New England. NYBC and its partners also provide a wide array of transfusion-related medical services, including Comprehensive Cell Solutions, the National Center for Blood Group Genomics, the National Cord Blood Program, and the Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute, which—among other milestones—developed the Hepatitis B vaccine and a patented solvent detergent plasma process innovating blood-purification technology worldwide.
