Now marking its 5th year, Windows of Understanding is seeking artists to be paired with organizations to create site specific works of public art around the themes of: ECONOMIC JUSTICE; PUBLIC HEALTH; CLIMATE CHANGE; and FROM PROTEST TO POLICY. This project has become an annual tradition and we are so grateful for the robust participation of artists from across the state, representing a wide range of philosophies and mediums. The 2022 season will run from Jan 17-Feb 28.

Each artist will be paired with a local organization working in social or environmental justice based on the issues they care about. An honorarium will be provided to each artist for their work, as well as a stipend for art materials to support their window intervention. All participating artists will attend an Artist Facilitator training that will cover project goals and community- based art practices. A detailed timeline will be provided to all participants.

TO APPLY: Complete this submission form here: https://www.windowsofunderstanding.org/about-the-artists by September 3 and send along with 5-8 examples of your art to windowsunderstand@gmail.com. Artists may direct application questions to Cassandra at coliveras@mgsa.rutgers.edu.
