This sweetheart is still looking for a good home! Chloe is a spayed female, under 2 years and would like to have a quieter home. Multi-cat households stress her out. So if you want a cat who wants to be by you, she will be perfect!

As baby season is here, please remember we are not a shelter. As we would love to help all kittens and young cats, we just don’t have the resources for this type of care.

As for our wildlife, we do have some resources to help direct you to, if you call the office first.

With that said, we are reaching out to see if in Berrien county we have any licensed raccoon, skunk or fawn rehabbers out there? The ones I know have either moved, retired or too busy. Please DM us if you do know of any. And yes I do know about the dnr website but we are lacking in our area.

Thank you all

Biggie went on an outing today. One of our technicians took Biggie for a walk downtown New Buffalo. He loves walks and car rides.

He is still available to be fostered or foster to adopt. Interested, please let us know.

Foster needed:
Our hbc stray, nicknamed Biggie, is looking for a quiet home to finish resting and healing. Idea home would be with an older, gentle dog to help him with home life or no dogs is fine also. Right now he doesn’t seem interested in cats but we recommend always being cautious at first, since his personality is only starting to show now.

His personality at the clinic is great. A little head shy but loves pets. Treat motivated and learning to take treat gently, sit, stay and come. We have not seen food aggression but would recommend feeding separately for a bit to make sure. He is skinny and needs to gain weight slowly. Yesterday was the first day he seemed interested in a stuffie. Was excited to play and chase it, then realized it was more fun to shred it and pull the stuffing out. Did not seemed interested in eating it but again careful watching him to make sure he stays safe.

He has warmed every heart here at the clinic, so please don’t be offended if we are extra picky about placing him with a foster until he is ready to be adopted. This dog has overcome so much and without knowing his history, we feel he will be amazing dog for someone. We are thinking he is about 4 years old and will be active once healed and comfortable.

I could write 10 more paragraphs about this special boy but will stop and tell you the process. If interested about fostering him, please DM us or stop by the clinic to meet him(he is at the front desk most days) and to fill out a foster form. Please note: he is not neutered at this time, he will not be placed in a household with an unfixed female dog or small children. All food and treatment will be paid for by the clinic. Must be able to bring him in for check ups, etc.

Looking for a home!
These sweeties are looking for a new home, their owner is very sick and won’t be coming home. They can be separated and are not at our clinic. Please read their information, Katelyn can answer further questions at 219-216-3600

Charlie is an approximately 4 year old male neutered Pitbull Mix. He is very energetic, super loving, and playful. He does not have the best training but would do great with someone who has the time and patience to work with him. Probably would be better in a home without small children as I would be worried he may knock them down, but he does live with a cat and has always done well with other respectful canine friends.

Goldie is an adult (unknown age maybe around 4-5?) spayed female domestic short hair. She is litter-box trained but is more on the shy and reserved side. She has lived with Charlie so she is known to do well with respectful dogs but it is unknown how she would do with other cats.

The vaccine history for them is not up to date but neither have any known medical problems.

If anyone would be interested in taking in one of them, Katelyn can answer further questions at 219-216-3600

Right now is wildlife baby season.

Some are trying to find a quiet place to have babies, like raccoons in your attic. Best to check your house for any loose soffits or holes. Squirrels have their babies tucked into your trees. Be careful and mindful when trimming or cutting down trees. Possums, woodchucks, foxes and skunks are on the move, watch the roads and please slow down for them and their babies.

Thank you. Our wildlife needs kind people.

Another step in healing!

Thank you for all of your positive thoughts for this hit by car stray! He is walking, eating - still sore and has a ways to go to gain weight (he is very skinny) and be healthy again. One day at a time.

I want to do an amazing shout out to our drs - Dr Vanessa, Dr Ben and Dr Mack who didn’t treat him as a lost soul and gave their all to help and treat him. To our techs and kennel staff that have cared and watched over him.

We see death and hard cases everyday so to see a dog that didn’t look like he wanted to survive, when he came, in to this is a miracle.

Thank you to all of you again for sharing his post to see if he had an owner (no one has claimed him yet) to all of the positive thoughts for him to get better, has worked. He isnt completely out of the woods but it’s looking brighter!

Happy Sunday!

Sad cat post but we wanted to make sure someone wasn’t still searching or wanted closure.

Black, Intact Male Domestic Short Hair found by 1257 W Hwy 12 in Three Oaks. Unfortunately it looks like it was hit by a car and didn’t survive. We scanned for a microchip but he didn’t have one. Please share, we will keep the body here for a week if someone wants to claim and wants ashes back.

Sorry, always hard to make these posts.

We love animals, talking about pets, playing with your pets, educating clients on care, the list can go on and on. But this time of year, please remember, if you are giving a pet for Christmas, you are responsible for that pet. Remember kids will not take care of them 100% like they promised, giving to a parent- think about if they get sick and can’t take care of it anymore, will you? Boyfriend/girlfriend - what happens if you breakup or become allergic?

Please do your research, call a vet that specializes in that animal, find out about daily care, how much it cost to feed and budget for care and emergencies. Every animal deserves a great life and not just forgotten in a cage or outside. Please research first.

Average lifespan of some pets, this is just an average as each species and breeds can live longer then you think!

Dog - 8-14 years
Cat - 8-16 years
Bunny - 8-12 years
Bird 3-80+ years
