“So do you have someone who works on you when you’re in pain?”

Simple terms- yes.

Unfortunately it’s usually myself. It’s hard to find a practitioner that can work on me the ways in which I know are effective. It’s hard to find someone (who isn’t 2+ hours away) who has the same principles in movement and pain relief like I do.

So when push comes to shove, I’ll put cups on, load the tissue, and get to work. It’s never ideal but I make do with my resources.

Luckily for my clients, they never have to drive far to get the care that they need!

You’ve probably said or heard this before…

“I tweaked my low back”
“I feel like something’s knotted up”
“I’ve tried stretching and nothing helps”

Enter the QL- a very sneaky, yet important stabilizer that often gets overlooked.

It lies deep behind other muscles, gets overworked, and hides in plain sight. When the QL is tight, under active, or asymmetrical you’ll often see this:

•Back pain on one side
•Hip hikes or an imbalance in the hips
•Core instability
•Glute weakness or tightness

But when alleviating the symptoms and finding the root cause, this muscle can be overlooked by many. Releasing it tension from the QL can be simple but effectively preventing it from becoming a permanent cause of pain takes work.

Accessible care is finally here 🎉

Healing should never be out of reach and that’s why MyoTherapy is happy to offer 2 pathways to affordable preventative care for those suffering with chronic pain.

Community Care Days: Offered on the 3rd Saturday of every month where Pilates and injury recovery sessions are available at a reduced rate. Ideal for those who need single sessions and cannot afford regular sessions.

The PE Scholarship: Pain to Empowerment
For individuals who need long-term care of injury recovery or Pilates sessions. This scholarship provides multiple sessions for anyone in need of lasting support. 2 fully funded scholarships are offered per year (spring & fall) and other partial scholarships are offered throughout the year.

Community Care Days begins August 16th (apply online).
The PE Scholarship fall application deadline is September 15th.

The Swan 🦢

Did you know that the Pilates Mat repertoire, like this swan exercise, was developed first before the Reformer was even born? Joseph Pilates designed the Reformer to not only assist with certain Mat exercises but to enhance how the client was experiencing the exercises.

Later on, when the Reformer was developed and the catalog of exercises was created, Joseph Pilates then continued to use Mat Pilates as a way for his clients to practice the method at home. He wanted them to feel stronger outside of the studio just as much as inside his practice. And that’s what we want for you too!
