-improving your animal compan Chiropractic is a manual method of therapy.

Simply put, doctors practicing certified animal chiropractic look for abnormal or restricted movement of the joints of the spine and extremities called Vertebral Subluxation Complexes (VSCs). VSCs have an effect on the nervous system and the entire body. The goal of the animal chiropractor is to restore proper movement to the affected joints with high velocity-low amplitude thrusts called adjustments. Restored movement allows the nervous system and body to function at their maximum, healthy potential. Chiropractic was founded on the premise that every living body is more than a machine made up of parts. Since its beginning in the 19th century, chiropractic has taken a vitalistic approach in healthcare. Vitalism is the philosophy that living things are made of an organized intelligent life energy. The founders of chiropractic called this energy ‘innate intelligence.’ This ‘innate’ is the difference between a live and a dead body. Chiropractic is founded in the idea that a body knows how to function and heal on its own. The purpose of chiropractic care is to help animals maximize their expression of this innate intelligence within their body. Biography:
Dr. Chelsey Giardina attended the nation's leading animal chiropractic college, Options for Animals. She then obtained certification in animal chiropractic from the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Dr. Chelsey has a B.S. in Animal Bioscience with honors in Veterinary Sciences from The Pennsylvania State University's Schreyer's Honors College. She completed her veterinary education at The University of Pennsylvania. After veterinary school, she completed an internship at Mid Atlantic Equine Medical Center followed by three years in a traditional equine ambulatory associateship. Originally from Hermitage Pa, Dr. Chelsey is very excited to offer animal chiropractic at The Green barn and to integrate vitalistic care into the lives of the Companion and performance animals of Western Pennsylvania. She is passionate that chiropractic will improve their lives, their movement, and their health! LOCAL FRIENDS and CLIENTS**

I know so many of you have enjoyed the Lutherlyn Equestrian Center… this is a call to action to contact theBoard of Directors to hopefully stop what they are planning on doing after next year's summer camp… which is to shut down the equestrian program completely 💔. The equestrian community has been blindsided by this decision.

PLEASE join me in writing letters/emails to the Board, asking them to strongly reconsider this abrupt decision. Let show them the communities support for such a very special/ vital asset to our community. I will be brain storming about fund raising opportunities through CIM. THANK YOU!!! 🙏🐎🦄

Dear Friend of the Lutherlyn Equestrian Center,

After extensive research, evaluation, and careful deliberation, the Lutherlyn Board of Directors has come to the difficult decision to close the Lutherlyn Equestrian Center. As costs continue to increase and the barn continues to deteriorate, the costs to maintain the program and restore the facility are simply too high. Despite our best efforts, it is no longer feasible to continue operations. Our intention is to continue quality lessons, summer horse camp, and care for the herd and facility until August of 2026. While this is a sad moment for all of us, we believe that this decision is the most responsible course of action for Lutherlyn and the future of this ministry.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Equestrian Program Director, Carla Murphy, the riding instructors, and the volunteers at the Lutherlyn Equestrian Center. The impact they have had on the lives of campers and students has been truly remarkable and greatly appreciated. Their hard work, time, and dedication have brought so much joy and opportunity to young horse enthusiasts, and we are incredibly thankful for them.

We also want to thank those who have donated to and supported the Lutherlyn Equestrian Center throughout its history. Your support and generosity have allowed Lutherlyn’s campers and students to discover their love of horses, develop their riding skills, and grow in their own confidence for more than 50 years.

We are committed to continuing our work to determine the best future for our horses and the land. We will spend the next several months exploring our options. Programs will continue through the summer of 2026, and we will provide updates as further details become available.

This decision is painful and sad for friends of the Lutherlyn Equestrian Center. We will do everything that we can to keep you informed and to celebrate the equestrian center over the next year. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns as we move forward using the e-mail addresses below.

Sincerely,

Lutherlyn Board of Directors
