It's safe to say that if you lost 0.1 pounds in a day, you would never notice any kind of a change. Even if that occurs every day for a week, you still wouldn't even lose 1 pound.

If you step on the scale, nothing will be different. You'll likely look exactly the same.

It's easy to assume that you've made zero progress.

After 2 weeks, the scale would only be down a single pound. At that point, a lot of people would assume they've plateaued and need to make a change.

But let's look at the big picture. If this continues for a year, you'd lose almost 40 pounds.

0.1 pounds is progress you would never notice, but it's progress that is still happening, and can lead to some pretty major results over time.

Granted, you're never going to see the same results every single day your weight is ALWAYS going to fluctuate.

But when you feel like you're making absolutely no progress, there's a strong chance that the progress is just too small to notice right now.

It doesn't mean you're not making any progress. You just might not see it.

A year might feel like a long time to wait for results, but a year will pass

you by before you know it.

Don't get caught up in short-term, unrealistic goals. Focus on the big picture and try not to get discouraged.

The way we view our food matters. Just because you don't look at a food and think that it is "healthy" that doesn't mean it's a bad thing to eat.

NOT healthy is a completely different thing than UNhealthy. They sound the same, but they are completely different.

Let's look at pizza as an example, because it's the most beautiful food on Earth. How can you possibly hate pizza?

We're going to generalize here, but most people don't consider pizza to be a typical "healthy" food. The problem there is that because of that labeling, they then see pizza as unhealthy.

But it doesn't need to be one or the other.

Just because something doesn't directly benefit your health, it doesn't make it bad for you.

No single food is inherently bad. It may provide less health benefits than other food, but it can never be unhealthy on its own. That holds true for pizza, cookies, ice cream, or any other food you can think of.

You may consider a specific food unhealthy FOR YOU because you have an intolerance, or maybe because it's a trigger for you. But no single food is universally "bad" to eat.

And besides, there's always the mental health aspect as well. Pizza is scientifically proven to nourish the soul, and you can't argue with science.

It's okay to feel "off" sometimes. But you have permission to feel great sometimes, too.

Maybe you are having an awesome hair day. Maybe your butt looks damn good in those pants (you too, guys). Maybe your biceps are feeling juicy. Maybe your skin is looking flawless.

Own it.

There's NOTHING wrong with thinking you look good.

Especially if you are someone who constantly nitpicks everything about yourself every single day. It doesn't mean you're cocky- it means you care about yourself. And that's very healthy.

You don't need to walk around like you are the perfect human specimen, but you can walk around with confidence and flaunt what you've got. Allow yourself to feel good for once!

Wear that outfit you love. Take that selfie. Flex. Smile.

Just own it. Life is tough enough. You don't need to be

so tough on yourself all the time.

Besides, confidence looks really good on you.
