At In-Home LCSW, we spend a lot of time speaking to kids, teens and even adults about seeking out friendships and relationships that make us feel good. Instead of wondering if people like you-start exploring if this is even someone that brings positivity and happiness to your life. Do you really LIKE them or just want their approval? Do they make you feel happy, seen, valued and understood? Can you be yourself around them? Do they bring out the best or worst version of you? We are in control of who we spend our time with and who gains access to our energy. Know your worth and value, people need to impress YOU to be in your life, not the other way around!

Stop telling moms they only have 18 summers.
You don’t stop being a mom when they turn 18.

Yes, the love changes.
The way they need you shifts.
The cuddles turn into phone calls.
The messes turn into heart-to-hearts.
The constant presence becomes quiet support.

But the love?
It never goes away.
It grows.
It deepens.
It stays.

You’ll still be their safe place when they’re 25 and life gets too heavy.
They’ll still call you when they’re 30 and need to hear your voice.
You’ll still be showing up, loving hard, and cheering them on when they’re 40.

Motherhood isn’t temporary.
It’s not a countdown.
It’s forever.

It lives on in who they become,
In how they love,
In how they show up for the people in their world.

That love doesn’t disappear.
It just finds new ways to stay.
