Adult ADHD: Symptoms, Causes, Treatments
What Is Adult ADHD?
Adult ADHD is a brain disorder in which you have trouble paying attention. You might also tend to act on impulse, or seem to have too much energy. About 4% to 5% of U.S. adults have ADHD, which stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Every adult who hasADHD had it as a child. Some were diagnosed in childhood, but others only found out later in life. While many kids with ADHD outgrow it, about 60% still have it as adults.

There’s no cure for ADHD. If your doctor says you have it, you’ll work together to make a treatment plan just for you.

Panic Attack Symptoms
Panic attacks involve sudden feelings of terror that strike without warning. These episodes can occur at any time, even during sleep. People experiencing a panic attack may believe they are dying or going crazy. The fear and terror that a person experiences during a panic attack are not in proportion to the true situation and may be unrelated to what is happening around them.
You may also think you're having a heart attack, and it's true that some of the symptoms can be similar. However, most people having a panic attack have had one before, triggered by a similar event or situation.

What Are Omega-3s?
Omega-3 fatty acids are “good fats” your body needs to function. These fatty acids come in three forms. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is found mainly in plant oils, while seafood is the best source of eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) acids. Your body absorbs EPA and DHA more easily than the plant-based ALA.

ALA is an essential fatty acid, meaning you need to get it from your diet. Your body can convert ALA into small amounts of DHA and EPA. But getting more from food or supplements helps support many of your body's processes.

What is Chickenpox?
Chickenpox is a very contagious infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It mainly affects kids, but adults can get it, too. The telltale sign of chickenpox is a super-itchy skin rash with red blisters. Over the course of several days, the blisters pop and start to leak. Then they crust and scab over before finally healing.

Symptoms appear within 10 to 21 days after you’ve been in contact with someone who has the virus. Most people recover in about 2 weeks.

Chicken pox. Chicken pox is an extremely contagious infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus. While these poxes are on the back of an adult, it usually affects kids. The red rash is very itchy and usually has blisters that crust over after several days. Scratching the sores can cause scarring. Once infected, the varicella-zoster virus stays in your body and can erupt later in life as shingles.

Chickenpox is generally mild, especially in children. But in severe cases.. click to read more https://www.webmd.com/children/what-is-chickenpox

The Benefits of Physical Therapy for Older Adults

You Don’t Have to Wait Until You’re in Pain
Donna Rice had a nagging pain in her hamstring. At 65, Rice, who lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, had been a runner for more than 40 years. Even when in pain, she didn’t like to stop running. It was key to her social life, sense of well-being, and overall quality of life.

She rested, stretched, and got massages – things she thought she was supposed to do. Maybe, she thought, it would get better on its own.

About Us

CT Internal Medicine and Allergy practices primary care internal medicine as well as caring for people ages four and up with allergies and asthma. For the patient, that means he can address many of his medical issues with one doctor in one place. In addition, most of our patients have their labwork drawn and processed right at our office and transferred to the laboratory, eliminating the need to go sit and wait at a lab. We also make every effort to keep patients' waiting time to a minimum, understanding that your time is as important as ours.
