This is by far the most used formula with hemodialisis patients. The caraña, native to the west pacific coast of Nicaragua has a sweet smell and flavor. It helps boost Athletic performance in runners, bike riders and swimmers. Traditionaly, families would prepare the drink for after any physical activity. For our hydration formula, I use caraña in addition to other plants native to the region.

CCR (Center for Cancer Research) is leading the NCI Program for Natural Products Discovery, which focuses on the NCI Natural Products Repository. This repository contains over 230,000 extracts from various sources and is generating a large number of research-ready samples. It is the largest and most diverse collection of publicly available natural extracts globally. These samples are being sent to screening centers worldwide to aid in the search for active natural products. When a potential extract is found, researchers use automated chemical techniques to isolate and identify the active compound for further analysis.

New technology will make it possible to explore the chemicals found in natural sources to discover tomorrow’s nature-derived cancer drugs.

I was very impressed by the flow of information conveyed in the article. I found the review tackled several important topics related to the Endocannabinoid system. Of particular importance to me was the relationship between the immune system and the Endocannabinoid system. On the one hand, the Endocannabinoid system is involved in immune system upregulatory pathways but on the other hand, these same up-regulatory pathways can induce cancer cell proliferation. This makes me wonder if understanding the endocannabinoid pathways and its linkage with the immune system would allow us to have a better understanding of the CNS and its role in immune regulatory function.

I just received an update from a patient with metastatic breast cancer who had previously been unable to continue treatment due to adverse reactions to a targeted therapy. Despite this setback, this patient, started an herbal-based protocol at my recommendation. After a month in the program, her bloodwork returned to normal levels, prompting her oncologist to resume treatment. However, her body showed intolerance to the treatment, leading to another pause of three-month pause. During this time, a PET scan revealed significant reductions in tumor size(over 60% reduction on large tumor and above 20% reduction on small tumors in her lungs). Subsequently, the patient began a new pharmaceutical treatment which she responded well to, with reduced side effects achieved through dietary adjustments and the use of our liver and kidney formula. This success story highlights the potential benefits of individualized therapies that combine conventional and plant-based medicine for patients with limited treatment options.
