If they’re sneezing and/or have a runny nose, it’s almost certainly *not* COVID-19! The leaders of our EMS agency have been sending out all sorts of updates to us medics on how we’ll handle any calls for suspected novel coronavirus emergencies. Yesterday, our Training Officer sent the attached graphic: fever, dry cough, and fatigue (and shortness of breath as it gets worse) are the markers to watch out for. Boogers: not so much.

To help with some of the medical terms, myalgia is muscle pain; arthralgia, joint pain; hemoptysis, bloody sputum ...and none of those are valid indicators for covid. Relax, take a deep breath (as long as any strangers are at least six feet away), and wash your hands again. I’m doing my best to be here for you no matter what happens.
