Jennifer joined FORTE to change up her running routine, improve her drumming, and try something new! Her goal, make the aches and pains go away, do a pull-up for the first time, and hit the snare as hard as possible. 2/3 goals accomplished, 1/3 well underway.

This is what FORTE is all about, making you better at the things you love to do.

Strength AND Conditioning

One of the biggest challenges to the transition into college sports is the level of conditioning you need to be competitive against athletes who have been playing at this level for years.

Summer packets from college teams often look intimidating. It's not just running; conditioning can happen in a circuit, on a bike, or a rower. Proper conditioning also prevents injury. So, if you do anything for yourself this summer, get into the gym, and get moving. You'll be grateful you did come the fall.

Summer training is the best time to get ahead. For years we've been helping athletes build strength, power, and speed. Be the athlete to beat this fall.

Scorsese’s back in the building, don’t miss the ending.

Huge thanks to Dylan for stepping up on his last clinical and helping us out. He made a strong impression on many of our patients and contributed meaningfully to the clinical environment. We wish him the best of luck on his board exam.

Rotational strength is a critical component of every sport: hockey, baseball, throwing, running, etc. Training these positions can be easy and can be scaled making it helpful for demand that sports require. These are a few of our favorite rotation movements that you will find programmed in our workouts throughout the week.

Dancing and the Performing Arts are often an underserved population in both rehab and training. Normally, you'd see ankle and hip related injuries, but in this case it's a hamstring. In this tape job, we are applying the tape right over the injuried site which in this case happens to be the muscle. While studies differ, it is expected that 50-75% of all hamstring injuries are to the muscle belly, not the intermuscular tendon origin or insertion. There are many ways to apply the tape, we placed it over the injury site, to help reduce her symptoms (even by a little) when competing.

A quick tape job for a sprinter with pain behind the outer ankle bone. What does tape do? Honestly, it helps takes the edge off. Here we have two pieces one running up the achilles and back side of the calf. The second follows the tendon of the fibularis longus/brevis. Anchor to keep it in place and stretch to provide some tension across the area you want to address.
