Bone Stress Injuries account for 15-20% of running related injuries in endurance athletes. Return to running time should be determined by a collection of factors, specific to each athlete.
It always starts with fixing the underlying cause. More often than not, something is causing the bone to adapt poorly to a standard training volume. Once the cause can be evaluated, addressed, and managed; a return to running can occur.
