Presbyterian Home for Central New York provides skilled nursing care 24 hours a day, seven days a week to seniors who have greater medical needs and are less independent. The 242-bed Long-term Care community offers an abundance of medical and social services, including a special needs/Alzheimer's unit and a Parkinson's/movement disorder residence in one central location. Since its opening in 1967,
the Home has provided a safe and secure environment in a homelike setting for its senior residents. Also featured is the medical Adult Day Health Care program that caters to each participants needs. The program provides the opportunity to socialize, develop friendships and receive peer support. The program is supervised by a nurse that has the ability to administer medication and other services include: rehabilitation, nutritional, podiatry, dental, and laboratory. Presbyterian Rehabilitation Center is a leader in providing long-term and intensive short-term rehabilitation. These services are available on an inpatient or outpatient basis, short or long-term and are covered by most insurances. The Rehabilitation Center is among Central New York's best facilities for aquatic, physical, occupational and speech therapies. The Presbyterian Residential Community ("PRC"), located at 4300 Middle Settlement Road, between Presbyterian Home for Central New York and The Meadows at Middle Settlement opened in 1995. This community consists of adult care and assisted living beds and provides long-term residential care and services to individuals who do not require continuous nursing are, but are unable to live independently. The PRC focuses on providing a supportive living environment in which seniors can remain active and independent in a homelike setting. The state of the art Wellness Center, which is open to the public, was designed with seniors in mind and features equipment specifically to meet their needs and also boasts a dry sauna to ease pain and stiffness associated with arthritis. The building also offers home care services for those that need assistance while still living at home. Preswick Glen is an independent living community centrally located in New Hartford, New York. It opened in the fall of 2007 and the 124-unit campus offers an active and vibrant lifestyle for seniors 60 years of age and older. Living at Preswick Glen means no more worry about home maintenance, snow removal, leaf raking and lawn mowing. The vast choice of services and amenities makes every day pleasurable, convenient and comfortable, and the flexible dining plan allows you to entertain friends and family. The Meadows apartments offer independent living on a 23-acre campus-like setting in suburban New Hartford. A combination of two and one bedroom and studio apartments makes up the contemporary complex which includes access to a new and modern Wellness Center, and priority admission to the Presbyterian Home and all other Presbyterian Homes and Services programs and facilities. Apartments are open to anyone over age 62, regardless of gender, race, creed or national origin and features the Friendship House, a central community center where a variety of social activities takes place.
