Protecting your eyes from UV exposure is just as important as protecting your skin. 🛡️☀️

Long-term sun exposure can increase the risk of cataracts and other vision-related conditions. The good news—prevention is simple:
• Wear sunglasses with 100% UV protection
• Use a wide-brimmed hat when outdoors
• Encourage children to protect their eyes early

A small step today can make a lasting impact on your vision health.

Extended screen time can take a toll on your eyes. 👁️💻

If you’re experiencing dryness, headaches, or blurred vision, you may be dealing with digital eye strain—also known as computer vision syndrome.

Simple strategies can help reduce discomfort:
• Follow the 20-20-20 rule (every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds)
• Adjust screen brightness and reduce glare
• Blink more frequently to keep eyes hydrated

Prioritizing eye health in a digital world is essential for long-term vision and daily comfort.

🌍✨ Expanding Vision. Transforming Lives.

On April 10, Yale Ophthalmology convened global leaders to officially launch our Global Eye Health Advisory Board—a major milestone in advancing equitable eye care worldwide.

From longstanding partnerships with the LV Prasad Eye Institute to expanding programs in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Belize, and the Caribbean, this initiative brings together experts across clinical care, research, and education to drive meaningful, sustainable impact.

💡 Key priorities include:

Expanding global virtual education (reaching ~80+ learners per session)
Advancing glaucoma care initiatives in Belize
Strengthening cataract training programs in Rwanda
Scaling partnerships built on local leadership and long-term collaboration

Together, we are building a global network rooted in equity, innovation, and partnership—because vision care should know no borders.

• Avoid rubbing your eyes
• Use artificial tears to flush out allergens
• Wear sunglasses outdoors to reduce exposure
