"Child School Injury In Lebanon : A Study to Assess Injury Incidence, Severity, and Risk Factors" quantifies child injury rates , investigates injury types, and highlights their risk factors.

As part of growing older , children’s risky behaviors change, resulting in various types of injuries associated with children’s age ,s*x , and their surroundings .

Bumps/hits and bruises were most common-almost 3 times more likely than all other injury types.

What is MENA PAIR?

MENA PAIR is the Middle East and North Africa Program for Advanced Injury Research. It is a research training program funded by the NIH () that builds upon long-standing partnerships between Yale University () and the American University of Beirut () to advance injury research capacity in the Middle East and North Africa.

Our team’s diversity, broad expertise, and decades of experience working in the region enable us to address the specific trauma and injury research needs of the region. MENA PAIR seeks to form a cohort of trainees that is rich in diversity of ethnic backgrounds, prior training, and gender representation. The program is open to those with basic science, public health, and clinical interests.

Applications are being accepted from now until March 18, 2022. Training is available for students/health professionals interested in pursuing a PhD, masters, or diploma. Apply today via the link in our bio!

Welcome to the Middle East and North Africa Program for Advanced Injury Research!

MENA PAIR is a joint research training program between Yale University and the American University of Beirut, funded by the NIH. Our mission is to advance the science and practice of trauma and injury research in the Middle East and North Africa.

We train health professionals at the PhD-, Masters-, and Diploma-level for those interested in launching a career in injury research. Our program offers state-of-the-art research design, methodology, and analytical approaches for injury research. We also provide mentorship and long-term research and career development for injury scientists in the region. By working with government, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and civil society, we aim to raise awareness of injury, strengthen injury surveillance, and increase the availability of reliable data for injury research.

Our application period is open from now until March 31, 2022, with graduate applications due to AUB on March 18, 2022. Apply today by visiting the link in our bio!
