The beautiful and spacious houses and grounds of our 110-acre Adolescent Girl’s Program in Killingworth, Connecticut, are the setting for day two of our tour. While yesterday’s discussion focused on Tunbridge Young Adult Programs, today’s concentrates on our adolescent primary residential and extended care treatment offerings.
Guests gathered in our learning center to hear Turnbridge Chief of Adolescent Psychology, Dr. Christopher Cutter, discuss the significant role that data collection and analysis play in achieving diagnostic clarity and improving treatment planning, our life-wide clinical approaches, the differences between our adolescent residential and extended levels of care, the research methodologies we use, and more. The presentation also highlights Turnrbidge’s role as a training site for the Yale School of Medicine Division of Substance Abuse and Child Study Center, which provides the opportunity to give emerging clinicians vital insight into adolescent behavioral healthcare best practices.
Turnbridge learning stations help guests explore specific aspects of our programming and ask questions. Turnbridge experts staff booths that provide in-depth information about adolescent residential programming, adolescent extended care programming, young adult programming, our behavioral metrics system, and family programming.
Today also allows us to celebrate a recovery champion in our midst — Gale Saler, LCPC, CRC-MAC, CAI, and CIP. Gale has dedicated over fifty years to saving and enriching lives through her work in numerous aspects of the behavioral health field. Gale is the 2013 recipient of the Governor’s Citation in recognition of her advocacy on behalf of the citizens of Maryland and the Excellence in Leadership Award from the State Associations for Addiction Services. We are touched that Gale shared her time with us, and it is our privilege to present Gale with a Turnbridge Medallion in recognition of her extraordinary service to the cause of recovery.
