🧠 Your brain needs fuel—are you giving it the right kind?
Some of the most common causes of brain fog are nutritional and easy to overlook:
• Low B12 (common in adults over 50)
• Iron or Vitamin D deficiency
• Thyroid imbalance
• Dehydration (yes—even mild!)
These can slow down your thinking, leave you feeling tired, or make it hard to focus.
💧 And as we age, our bodies don’t retain water or absorb nutrients as well as they used to.
🔍 If your brain fog comes with low energy or dry skin, ask your doctor about testing B12, iron, and thyroid levels.
✨ Small upgrades in hydration and food choices can make a BIG difference.

🔥 Did you know inflammation can cloud your thinking?
Brain fog is a very real part of living with chronic conditions like:
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Lupus
• Psoriatic arthritis
• Fibromyalgia
These conditions don’t just affect your joints—they affect your brain too.
Chronic inflammation, poor sleep, pain, and medication side effects can all contribute to that “foggy,” slow, hard-to-focus feeling.
💬 You’re not imagining it—and you’re not alone.
💡 Small changes in routine (like better sleep, stress relief, and anti-inflammatory foods) can make a big difference.

💤 Can’t think straight? Check your sleep and hormones.
Two of the biggest (and sneakiest) causes of brain fog are:
✔️ Poor sleep quality or sleep apnea
✔️ Hormonal shifts—especially during perimenopause
If you’re waking up groggy or noticing mental sluggishness, your brain may be running on empty.
😴 Hot flashes, insomnia, or undiagnosed sleep apnea can all disrupt deep, restorative sleep.
📌 Tip: If your brain fog coincides with poor sleep or hormone changes, don’t brush it off—these are treatable issues.

It’s easy to walk away from someone and say “I’m done.”

But maybe that’s not automatically the best path…

A more nuanced investigation might be:

-To understand why they trigger you
-To try to calmly communicate what’s up for you, and what might be better
-To give them a chance to respond thoughtfully

If it blows up or if they refuse to engage respectfully, read the room. Understand that you can’t control their reactions.

Also honor your own needs (for respect, for kindness, for love - it’s not too much to ask), and to protect your peace.
