Program Notes
Named after a Hopi word signifying “life out of balance,” Koyaanisqatsi is an experimental film from 1982 directed by Godfrey Reggio with cinematography by Ron Fricke. A transcendent score from Philip Glass drives the meditative experience on the anthropocene. Themes for reflection include humanity’s relationship with nature, technology, and ourselves as living organisms. What is the world we are creating for ourselves?

We hosted a moderated discussion on the topic, “What Is Love?” last night with Dr Robert Krause and guest speaker Paul Bloomfield, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Connecticut.

It was a wonderful turn out, beautiful dialogue, and many connections were made. We are humbled and grateful for our community 🙏🏼

We also love all the different ways our space can transform!

“Love is neither wise nor beautiful, but is rather the desire for wisdom and beauty.”

✨Centered Yoga welcomes you on August 24th for an hour long vinyasa yoga practice lead by Robert Krause, followed by a guided “Breathwork For Transformation”meditation.

9am - 10am : Vinyasa Yoga w/ Robert Krause
10:30 -11:30am : Breathwork For Transformation Meditation

Curious to hear more about “Breathwork For Transformation”?

Breathwork for transformation is a therapeutic practice that involves consciously controlling one’s breathing patterns to improve mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

The recognition of the connection between breath and consciousness is evident in various ancient traditions. In India, pranayama- a yogic practice involving breath control has been a core component of spiritual and health practices for centuries. Similarly, in ancient China, Qigong and Tai Chi incorporated breath regulation to cultivate vital energy and promote health.

In the Western world, Stanislav Grof introduced Holotropic Breathwork, which combines accelerated breathing with evocative music to induce altered states of consciousness and facilitate personal growth.

We will be using breathing exercises to effect a transformation of our psyche in a way that can powerfully open us up. Following yoga practice, and before a ketamine session, many have found these activities a powerful combination to touch deeper parts of themselves.

✨Come journey with us… hope to see you there 🙏
