Our Voices: Information on HIV for Youth by Youth Connecticut HIV Planning Youth Advisory Group We are a diverse group: from different cities and towns, ethnic and racial backgrounds, and sexual orientations.

The Advisory Group met through 2013, with approximately 20 teens from across Connecticut working together each year to educate their peers and to develop recommendations for improving HIV care and prevention for youth. Some of us have personal experiences with HIV through a family member or friend, and all of us share a common commitment to preventing the spread of HIV among youth.

Dear Friends of the Youth Advisory Group,

As some of you may know, due to lack of government funding, the Youth Advisory Group will no longer convene. We want to say a big thank you to everyone who participated in YAG activities and supported YAG’s cause over the years. Thank for your hard work, dedication, and great ideas along the way. We are so grateful to have been part of the informative, impressive projects you created that have had a big impact in the HIV/AIDS community over the years.

Stay happy and healthy!

Congrats to the Youth Advisory Group on a great speech at the Capitol this morning. Give Us the Facts!

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is looking for bright, committed, and enthusiastic teens (ages 14 to 17) from across the nation to join their Youth Leadership Team (YLT). The YLT works to reflect teens’ views and to give voice to their unique perspectives by getting them actively involved—nationally and locally—in teen pregnancy prevention efforts. Teens will go to Washington for a series of meetings and events that help them get comfortable working together and talking about these issues.
