I dont celebrate thanksgiving in the same way, one I don’t celebrate stealing of land and colonization, two I don’t eat animals and don’t sit at tables where people eat them, I’ll stand up and walk away. I stand in solidarity with all oppressed people of any land and with the animals. Until all cages are empty! There are always solutions and I am thankful for those doing the work within themselves and in the world. I was going to find a photo of me with a turkey leg to compare from then to now but it’s not needed. I used to eat animals and now I don’t. No it wasn’t hard. The hardest part of going vegan is these times of year where traditions and culture can be challenging with family and friends that don’t see the perspective of the animal, the victim. We always have a choice in life and in our paths and following our heart with peace and LOVE can bring us those solutions. I am grateful for so many amazing people in my life I’ve shared time with conversations working and building. I am grateful for the abundance that is always available to us when we work together. I am grateful for yoga and all of its practices that have benefited my life. I am grateful for all the teachers I’ve had, that’s everyone I have ever met, we are all teachers and we are all students, learning is a constant in life, sometimes it learning a new perspective of something that’s always been, just from another lens. There’s so much I’ve been working on and look forward to sharing more about this work. However you celebrate or if you don’t, take some time to find gratitude everyday, think about all of the people and beings that make it possible for us to be here for us to be able to live and the earth we are all part of and supports us all. Remember to share with friends and family and whoever may be in need. No such things as strangers just friends you haven’t met yet, sometimes just a conversation can change someone’s life. If you can help then help, if you can’t then at least be kind. We are all going through our own journey and collectively as well. We are not alone, if you are hurting you’re not the only one, if you’re feeling joy others can feel joy too. Every little bit matters, that extra second to hold the door, or say hi, or share a compliment with someone. As Gandalf said “ some believe it’s only great power that can keep evil in check, but that’s not what I’ve found. I have found that it is the small everyday deeds or ordinary folks that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and LOVE.” Remember this can be challenging time of year for many people and the more we help each other that ripple affect may FLOW Like WATER ~ PEACE
