Clifford Beers A nonprofit innovating mental health care for children and families in Connecticut since 1913.

Mental health and support services for children, adolescents, young adults, and families. We are a nationally recognized provider of trauma-informed mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults. We serve as the safety net for children and families in the greater New Haven area who cannot afford or gain access to private mental health care. Our whole-family, trauma-informed, integrated model of care is designed to reduce chronic stress and build healthy and supportive connections. The children and families we serve are incredibly resilient, and we believe every individual deserves compassionate and individualized care that improves their health, resiliency, and quality of life. We accept Medicaid (HUSKY) as well as several commercial health insurance providers.

We’re honored to announce Dr. Robert Anda and Laura Porter as keynote speakers for Healing the Generations 2026.

Dr. Anda is a physician-epidemiologist and co-founder of the landmark Adverse
Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study. Laura Porter is Co-Founder of ACE Interface and a national leader in applying ACE and resilience science to community and systems change. Their joint keynote, Fireside Chat – Creative Leadership in Public Health: Navigating Paradigm Change, Resistance, and Purpose, will be featured as part of this year’s conference program.
